Thank you for the update Bridget.

I reckon that she must put a smile on the faces of the hospital staff when she visits them. Wondering if she gives any new staff the third degree.

Hope that her cousin arrives soon, so that ZZ can enjoy being a "big girl" I recon that she will have a few words of advice for her little cousin.

Good morning everyone.

My apologies to you all but I have not been on here for quite a while .

ZZ is still showing us that she is full of determination to live a good life with lots of fun. She has been back in hospital for two short periods, and is so used to it now that she tells as many people as she can that the nurses think she is "good and clever girl" not sure that this is quite what they say!

ZZis looking forward to her new cousin arriving, over due actually, and tells everyone who will listen that soon she will be a "big girl".

Thank you all for your prayers, positive thoughts and for helping to keep me sane!


I am now back on here for most days,

Many thanks for your replies, it is very comforting to know that you are all staying in touch.
Sometimes I just feel helpless and sharing my feelings with you all is a real boon. Also a big hug to those who also send the occasional PM.

Science has conquered so much in my lifetime I am sure that one day a cure will be found.

That little lady is such a fighter, so glad she is holding her own, even if it seems one step forward and two back at times. She must be astonishing the doctors.

Hello everyone. I thought that it was time to give an update re ZZ.

She is still with us and her health is rather like a slide in the park. Most recently as most of you will know she was able to discard her tube for feeding. All went very well until a week or so and now she is back to having some nutrition by tube and some by normal eating. Apart from that she is her usual self.

I am quite convinced that your positive thoughts, prayers etc are helping all the family.

I'm one of those people who generally just read the posts, and rarely posts anything. I've been reading the updates about your Great niece, ZZ and I've been willing her on, and hoping things will improve for her. I've been concerned the last few days, as you haven't done an update about her. Hoping everything is okay, and thinking about you all.

Good morning to you all. Your messages have been read several times this morning as I pondered on you kindness, genuine interest and amazing support. I believe that you are all my "angels" .

Life is so very strange, as my sister also told me that her son, whose wedding we went to last year, and his wife are expecting their first child In late July, so that means that with my army son and his wife having a child in about 4 or five weeks and this new child we continue to grow our family tree! I wonder who will have the third child??

Liz, your comment about ZZs sister is welcomed, yes she has a very good and strong family around her and has lots of friends as well so I expect she will be fine and I imagine that both parents know exactly how to make sure that she has some 'Special Time".

Well off now to make my coffee, and watch the sea and sky for a few minutes.

Hi Bridget, I do hope little ZZ will eat more at home and put that weight back on, but whatever happens, it's probably nicer for her to be at home with her family and familiar things around her and that will make for better memories and times for them all. Your poor niece must be exhausted, bless her, she has worked so hard to help her little one. As long as ZZ's sister is helping within the family by maybe being given little responsiblities or whatever so she doesn't feel shut out, I am sure she will cope well, she has so many caring people around her.

Let's keep hoping for better news each day

Good morning dear people,

At last I have some news re ZZ. Telephoned my sister and left a message, she sent an email last night.,

It has been decided that as both My niece and ZZ are not sleeping very well, My niece being a well trained nurse and learnt to much about this condition that they could go home. So last night was the second night back home.
The plan is that ZZ may be inclined to have more food at home and must increase her weight by 1.5 Kilo within six weeks or she will have to go back into hospital. My fear is almost palpable that she is home because there is little else, if anything, that can be done. I know that ZZs chances are slim ......
but I have to stay positive and keep saying the prayers, and keep reading all your supportive messages. ( hope that sentence makes sense).

I worry about ZZs older sister, she must be bewildered at times, my sister is a wonderful Grandma and her aunt and uncle and their families who live very close by are caring etc but ........... I think you will know what I am trying to say.
Enjoy your day and I will be back again when I have more news. I do peek in and out just to reminded myself how marvellous you all are, staying by my side.
