On your posts/thread you have the option to edit or delete your content/post

you cannot edit or delete another members content or post but you can report the post for review

You - and only you (and GR) - are the only people that can delete your own posting. I all too often have to edit when, in spite of doing a preview, as soon as it's on the thread I see a spelling or typing mistake!

GinN

GinN Report 20 Nov 2012 17:43

No, Barbinglos, I can't. So, that could be the problem sorted! Glad it was nothing personal!
Nice to see somebody else as daft as me. cos I'm useless with cyberspeak. :-S

Ah you may be right cause I can't see it on yours now only mine . Can you see it on mine ??

GinN

GinN Report 20 Nov 2012 17:31

Does that mean it's always on your own post, but nobody sees that on anyone elses on the threads?

Sorry to be a thicko!

By the way I had to ask what RR was too DOH

GinN Report 20 Nov 2012 16:00

And another thing, why do I always have "Edit" and "Delete" on my top line - nobody else seems to!

GinN

GinN Report 20 Nov 2012 13:25

Hmm - sounds a bit like an ASBO. You're not in the club until you get one.
Wonder how long I will keep my nose clean!
Better give me that advice, John........

When is John going to turn nice? ;-)

I miss Eldrick :-( and his insights.

Hi Geordie. Get RR'd, share it with all your friends on here and get silly :-D :-D

Where's the intelligent Allan we all know on this thread?

JustJohn

JustJohn Report 19 Nov 2012 21:22

Geordie It don't hurt a bit. In fact, it is a bit of a trophy on here. There is even a special club for those who get rr'd.

I can give you plenty of advice about how to get in the club. What things to put, who to niggle. RR's have really improved my complexion and made me a lot more desirable to the opposite sex. ;-)

Welcome to the real world :-0

If someone objects to what you have posted then they click the Report button.

That removes your actual post until GR decide whether it has broken the rules.

If not they reinstate it, otherwise they remove it and usually send you an email.

A problem is that some people use the report button too frequently or as a means of getting at a particular person.

Another problem is that GR are not always consistent and sometimes posts get reinstated and then removed.

Also GR usually fail to inform the poster what message has been removed and why.

They also use rather strong language which can be rather hurtful especially if it is not clear what the problem with the post is.
