I liked Lamb Chop and I used to watch Muffin and had a Muffin the Mule puppet with red strings with rings attched to put on your fingers.

I remember Bengo the Boxer Dog too and Prudence Kitten. I had a rubberised Prudence glove puppet with a velvety finish and long whiskers. The little Poodle we had was so jealous and hated it........chewed it's face off when she found it on the floor!! :-S

I stand corrected then Sharron, dont know why her name popped into my head.

OH still has a Muffin puppet and strings in his sisters loft. A little bit worse for wear though.

Wasn't it Annette Mills, sister of John Mills, who played the tunes for Muffin?

Violet Carson was on the piano for Wilfred Pickles when Mabel was at the table.

I still have my Muffin the Mule Tea set packed away in a cupboard :-D

It was the Moomin's that I watched with my daughter & of course that saggy pink cat

We used to call our English teacher Ollie Beak - he looked just like him!
Muffin the Mule was the first T.V. programme I remember watching, at my Aunties befor we got a telly.

I used to love Lenny the Lion. I saw him in pantomime once, and was thrilled when he said his birthday was 20th June - same as mine.
Orville! I hated that green duck, and still do, makes me want to throw up!
I loved Sooty and Sweep. My parents once got me the glove puppets for Cristmas, and I had to feign surprise: I.d found where they were hidden and had been playing with them for weeks!

How about Skippy the Bush Kangeroo. I can remember eldest daughter having a toy one for Christmas one year. She was very young at the time and is 46 now.LOLOL

The WestJet Family Fun Series is a new afternoon concert program featuring performers like Abbotsford singer Victoria Duffield, Canadian act the Doodlebops and an act sure to appeal to nostalgic parents as well as their kids — Lamb Chop.

The beloved hand puppet created by Shari Lewis, Lamb Chop hasn’t been seen in these parts since the late 1990s, when Lewis was in town taping the TV series Lamb Chop’s Play-Along.

For puppeteer Mallory Lewis, who co-produced the show and has taken over Lamb Chop duties, the Fair at the PNE is “not just a gig. This one is special.”

Lewis spent six months out of the year for most the 1990s in the Lower Mainland, where she co-produced Play-Along, first in Burnaby and then at the CBC studios until just before her mother’s death in 1998.

Returning to Vancouver is a chance to revisit the city and see old friends, as well as make new ones. Kids still respond to Lamb Chop, she said.

“People always ask me, ‘Are kids different today than they used to be?’ Not at all. They still like funny, they still like silly. They still like to see a kid, represented by Lamb Chop, get the better of an adult — me. A really good character is a really good character.”

Lamb Chop’s appeal, said Lewis, is that she’s “a spunky, irascible six-year-old girl who speaks the truth.”

Hi Chris,

I used to watch and love Lamb Chops here in NZ. I also watched Bill and Ben and Captain Pugwash , all on black and white tv....

Happy memories. I recall a cartoon of the Beatles too.

I'm of the 'Woodentops', ' Andy Pandy' - who I thought was a girl until my children disabused me of this thought - and 'The Flowerpot Men' generation.
