The thought of all the chores, food shopping, present shopping, card writing and endless queues everywhere. The fight for the last parking space for miles!

People wanting to throttle each other over the last bag of sprouts. :-(

I am full of the joys of Christmas. Just had a leisurely (people don't [push old ladies! lol) shopping trip down Oxford Street and the lights and atmosphere really got to me. Mind you I don't have much to do as I go away each Christmas. Bring it on! :-D <3

I don't understand why people go so mad at christmas, it's only a couple of days at most.

Present shopping I do a couple a week and as much on line as I can. I hate crowded places which can make shopping difficult at this time of year lol. I am fortunate that I can go when shops are quieter, wouldn't like to have to take children around shops now.

I love christmas though and feel lucky that I have family spend it with us.

At this moment in time the past is where I would like to be Mersey......when my mum who loved Xmas did everything for the family and made it a special time for all.

Barb......my catchphrase also :-D

However daughter SIL and kids have invited themselves for the big day so will have to pull my socks up and get going!

Wonder did he ever feel the same....look at the DOB!

Yes Ann for sure......she loves Xmas here. When I suggested she may like to go to In Laws for a change and come here Boxing Day instead...she was horrified at the thought.....good job her hubby enjoys my cooking!

Not sure if my mum ever had the thought....she truly loved all things Xmas and would be on the phone in September asking us what pressie we fancied that year!

Hello **Ann**

I love Christmas.....everything about it ......except.....Christmas Cards !!

Oh where do I start !! .....I have more back than I send that makes me feel guilty & depressed .Ugh.

I'm always glad to take them down.......how sad am I ?

The decs can stay up all of January ....love them ..

As lovely as cards look, they always fall down around me, never got enough places to hang them, I have tried all sorts all fancy ways to hang them. So this Christmas I'm NOT sending ANY, if I did I would have to go carol singing for a few bob for the stamp money !! LOL ........many will get Phone Calls & E-mails of good Cheers......

Nice to be different aint It .?. ..... :-(

Freezing tonight and a full moon. Have had terrible weather over weekend rain and gales. Flooding in a lot of the country....St Asaph about 30mins away had it really bad with the river banks bursting and flooding 5ft deep....900 homes there.....really shocking stuff to watch....poor people...a lot not insured!

Dry for next few days.....then heavy rain again for the new week. Daily Mail saying this is going to be a hard winter with temps -20 dec/jan......hope they are wrong. Off to bed now as OH will have warmed it up!

Watch out for Jaws!

It's only me & OH......... family all live either interstate or in other countries.

I've got bits & pieces for OH (he'll get his own pressie, golf shoes!). The only other person we buy a gift for is OH's mother........ and the shop I want to go to is having a sale starting this Saturday... I'll go on Monday morning.

We have our Christmas dinner & exchange pressies on Christmas Eve, and spend Christmas Day grazing and lazing around.

If we're feeling energetic we might go for a walk on the beach :-D We'll go to the section where dogs are allowed...... might see Sandy Claws. :-D :-D

PollyinBrum Report 29 Nov 2012 10:38

I must admit that Christmas for me used to be all rush, and fuss with lots of work and never enough time. I love giviing presents but hated shopping for them when the shops were packed . I always avoided buying Christmas presents early, possibly because I was too busy doing other things. I did not enjoy the build up, but always loved it when the time came,. Miraculously, somehow I was always organised at the last minute. However this year is the first Christmas I have not been working full time, so I am well ahead, I have brought and wrapped almost all of the presents, and done some food shopping. I am actually enjoying it. Bring it on! ;-)
