The £10 Christmas Bonus was one of Tony Blair's little wheezes to bribe the OAPs (as thgey were known in those days).
Total waste of effort:
It must cost millions to send out on top of the cash itself.
It would be better just to add it to the annual pension or even combine it with the Winter Fuel Allowance.
Still, I suppose the administration keeps a thousand or so Civil Servants occupied for a few weeks.

Think I'll treat Hubby and I to a £6.49 for 2 meals deal at Wetherspoons, and a couple of half pints. We know how to live in Norfolk!

Ooh no Susan, I might get one of Jon's suggestions. I think it might go on a bottle of bubbly to drink with the family at Christmas. Or a good bottle of white wine for the same reason.
Yes, must remember the food bank when we go next.

AnnG :-D :-D :-D

Many years ago I had £1,000 floating around spare. So I wanged it in a pension with Equitable Life. They were then absorbed into Prudential.

I get my annual pension on 1 Dec each year for the £1k annuity. Try not to spend, spend, spend. Probably just chip a bit off mortgage.

Last year I got £8.22. This year Prudential inform me it has reduced to £8.17p.a. (after tax of £2). :-D :-D :-D
