Morning All.
Karen, please do not remove your post. There is no need. Apologies accepted. Slightly fraught with everything at this time of year, and just out the hosp. Hope you enjoy your dinner
I think the prize, if there was one, goes to Mr. D and Brian W. Typical male approach. LOLOL Brilliant.
Have a good one everybody.

Hello Julia,

I'm sorry you see my post as being sarcastic as it certainly wasn't meant that way.
I took your post to be lighthearted and answered, in my opinion, in a lighthearted fashion.
If you would like me to remove it, I will, without prejudice :-)

We will be well prepared, and plan to eat about three o'clock, but with eight adults, three teenage grandchildren and five younger grandchildren, the answer is when we can get it.

Julie I hope you have a good Vhristmas whatever time you eat. :-D :-D

Merry Christmas :-D

About 4.Youngest is on an 'Early' shift and won't get home until about 3.15

Normally we aim for 1.00 - 1.30, but everything seems to take longer to cook than usual

We are going to our Sons new home... they have cooked never cooked a full Roast Turkey & trimmings meal before :-| ... so will feed OH a large breakfast

It will be lovely whatever time we eat it & whatever they dish up ... cos I will not have spent my usual Christmas Eve/morning preparing veg, stuffing an over size turkey, preparing the trimmings & making an assortment of puddings.

To be fair, Julia, I have never known Karen to be sarcastic and am sure her comment wasn't meant in that way. Just saying :-)

Nice to see you back, by the way.

We are going to our daughters which is about an hour s drive from us . They have the in laws coming too from the midlands down to Kent.

Not travelling to theirs till Xmas morning cos OH likes to go to midnight mass and as he isn't driving anymore I will be taking him to his local RC church and picking him up.

Daughter likes to do dinner 1-1.30 cos the pressies are done after lunch. She always said when she was a little girl she hated Xmas dinner cos she felt sick with the anticipation of pressie time.

Karen, I put this thread up this morning at time when, in my opinion only, I thought it needed a little gentle lifting to help others. Fun was called for, not sarcasm, either about the way it was typed, or it's content.

I hope you enjoy Christmas lunch

What time are you having yours, and why.

What time: at lunch time probably, we'll be at the out-laws for Crimbo this year :-)

Why: 'cos it's Christmas and we'll be hungry :-)

As I cannot remember much of last Christmas I expect it will be more of the same! Lots of singing and dancing and neighbours dropping in and throwing shots back and lots of fun and laughs. Maybe it will be a late supper! :-D

GinN Report 19 Dec 2012 14:44

Have to visit daughter and grandchildren on Christmas morning, see them opening presents and drink Bucks Fizz, then collect my Dad (he doesn't think he can take the kid's exitement any more!). Getting him in and out of the car is a work of art, so we get back around 12.30. We ask our neighbour to light the oven at midday, and I prep most things on Christmas Eve, so we can socialise over a few drinks for a while. Dad gets rather maudlin and goes to sleep!
We eventually sit down about 3.30, if we can prise eldest grandson, who also joins us, away fro m his laptop. Poor hubby has to stay sober, as Dad won't stay overnight.
Roll on Boxing Day, when we can both relax!
