When does an age gap in a relationship become acceptable...for example I used to date men who were 10 or so years older than me when I was over the age of 18 without comment...but obviously it becomes an issue if say a 15 yr old dated a 25 yr old......or does it? |

I certainly would of had something to say if my daughter started seeing a man 10 yrs older or even 5 yrs when she was under 16 ...infact the bloke would of been set away with more that my boot in his backside. Yuk makes me skin crawl :-( |

I'm of the opinion that age doesn't matter except as Hayley says if one of the partners involved is a minor. |

I always thought I would not want to be in a relationship with a man who was younger than me,it just didn't seem right. |

I don't see why a minor should be treated any better or worse on his/her 'dates' by a 25 year old than by one of the same age. It's all about trust and respect. |

If the relationship works it works, but I think it depends on the 'maturity' of those involved rather than the age..... |

I'm like Hayley in that I'd be highly sceptical if a man over 20 came knocking at the door for my underage daughter.....however mature she may appear.... |

I think the fact that he was knocking on your door and not meeting her somewhere out of the way would speak volumes about his intentions. |

My ex was 9 years older than me and in his late 50's he became 'old' very quickly and set in his ways. I try to be young at heart and flexible. We divorced! |

I have a toyboy (very proud of him I am too) :-D <3...but if you would have told me this years ago I would never have believed you, I really liked the older man but found they are very set in there ways and can become boring !!.... I know this is not everybodys thoughts but for me personally Older is not for me !! I need someone who can keep up with me and also put up with me :-D :-D :-D ;-) |

My aunt married a man 18 yrs older. Difference never mattered - until he retired. As aunt said he came home, sat in front of tv and waited to die. He was healthy, had always been very active. |

My Hubby is 5 years younger than me, I've always preferred younger men. He has never felt younger, though, and has always really looked after me. |
