Brilliant. The music brings tears to my eyes even though I have heard it so many times. .......on a different note I always think about the first person who starts singing on their own, supposing all the cast decide not to bother joining in........jl

Janet. I did that in a big shopping centre in Cardiff before Christmas. ;-) Not one joined in. Felt so stupid on my own. Writing this from a private place :-( :-(

Loved it. Thought it was great how all the shoppers looked a bit gloomy and rushed, then puzzled when the singers started and how they were smiling at the end. And what a way to publicise the show!

Rose thank you for that my OH and my favourite and we
have watched the DVD I forget how many times.
I not only cry I sob while watching it don't know why. :-)

Wonderful Rose thank you. And then I picked up the encore finale of the 25th anniversary concert at O2 which was even more wonderful (even though we have the DVD still watched the clip).

Be interesting to see if the film has as much impact, we haven't booked yet, still not sure about it.

Ann, I haven't decided whether to see the film either, the clips I have seen don't grab me...probably because I don't much like Russell Crowe, and his voice just doesn't come anywhere near the notes hit by Philip Quast :-(

We have seen the stage show four times, I can't think the film will have the impact that the stage has, the relationship with the cast. Also don't know why they have changed the opening scene to being in water pulling a boat rather than working in a quarry. Have to make our mind up as it is in Gloucester in the next week or so.

My wife and her friend are going to see it next week. It will be to loud for me, so will stay at home

Went to see Les Mis at the theatre about 15 years ago. So bored I nearly left at the interval, wish I had, the second half was more depressing than the first. It remains
the second most boring musical ever in my book. The most boring was Fiddler n the Roof.

I would go to the theatre to see it again tomorrow if I could. Love the music, have the CD and the DVD (10 year concert and 25 year concert).

I've seen the show and love the music so have been listening to Ken Bruce's show this week as he's played extracts/music from the new film. This morning Hugh Jackman (Jean Valjean) was singing 'Bring him home' I think he's smashing,though not singing I have to say.
Seeing as you're a big Mis fan Ann think you will have to see the film too ;-)

Yes I suspect we will Mau, we never go to the cinema though, Last time I went was ages ago with DiL to see Mamma Mia, goodness knows when OH last went. Apathy really and not likeing the area where the Glos cinema is. May go to Cheltenham though.

Oh Rose, I don't think I will ever see it that often, it isn't cheap to go to the theatre these days.

Like Hugh Jackman, think he will be ok as Jean Valjean, not sure about the young girl who plays the older Cosette (the young girl from Mama Mia) her voice is a bit shaky.

We will probably have a family trip to see the film, in the hope that at least one of us will spot OH in his debut part as an extra.
Our guess is it will only be a fleeting glimpse, but at least we know where and when to look !
