I overheard a friend of ours (male, about 26, single and straight) ask my OH "What's the best thing about being married?"

Well...........wouldn't you want to know?

MOTH thought about it for about 10 seconds ...

"Always knowing there will be something in my socks & jocks (underwear) drawers"

I guess it's his way of saying he gets looked after?? <3

Finding things I can't find :-) I get so frustrated when I can't find a pen or a stamp. OH is so calm and knows where everything is. Like a cool Celtic breeze on a boiling hot summer day :-D :-D

Have my moments, Barbs. :-D To be honest, in all 37 years I have no idea how I was so lucky back in 1976 when I asked OH back to my new bachelor bungalow in seaside Llanddulas and cooked her a meal. I cremated the steak and was so embarrassed - yet later found out that she liked her steak very very well done. We just totally clicked.

They say that everyone can meet the right person if they are patient.
:-D :-D

How true, John. I was a confirmed man hater after being badly let down by my first hiusband. Meeting my second husband changed my mind in minutes, we just totally clicked, too! <3 :-D

And me Geordie and John
After a very nasty divorce I said never ever again.

A girlfriend begged me to go out with her one night and I finally agreed. This chap asked me to dance ( that was back in 1976 too John ) and been with him ever since. Mind you we were " engaged " for 18 years before I finally succombed to marriage.
:-D :-D

The Jewish practice in Old Testament days was a 3-fold marriage/ Only just found this out incidentally but it explains why Virgin Mary was so young.

1. The match. Usually between children - fathers decided
2. The betrothal (engagement) - often aged 12. Lasted a year when couple really got to hold hands (in a literal sense)
3. The culmination (the naughty bit that blows your hat off in the wind) - lasted 7 days. A week after which both parties were week. ;-)

Our way? Concentrate on getting your exams and career behind you before you look at her ankles, or his ????? eyes and sports car? Then 18 years engagement. Good job we live a lot longer than they did 2,000 years ago.:-D

But it is amazing when we find the right one. I was often tempted to get married to someone I got on ok with. So glad I waited (30 when I met OH). :-D

7 Days John!!! Don't let my wife hear that, In my opinion 7 minutes including getting in the mood would rate me as a superstud!

lol John

First time I cooked dinner for MOTH I made soup (and other things). Soup had to be put in the blender.......... I wasn't paying attention........ the soup was warm....... I forgot to hold down the lid........ WHOOSH! There was green slime on the ceiling, curtains, dripping down the walls, everywhere!

To his credit, he didn't laugh, and helped me clean it up. What a champion <3

Scozz. These things happend when you are in love. Usually you feel a ***t and your love target is not impressed.

Isn't it great when you can both laugh about redecorating kitchen and get on together and make it all nice again. True love :-D :-D

LadyScozz Report 12 Jan 2013 10:29

I haven't had an explosion in the kitchen since then :-D That was 27 years ago!

These days I use a stick mixer :-)

And he loves the soup. lol

It was zucchini & lettuce - easy, make it in the microwave... then throw it on the ceiling :-D

JustJohn Report 12 Jan 2013 10:39

When I shared a flat with my younger brother, he cooked some chips and forgot about them (he was watching TV with girlfriend and attention had wavered - say no more). Every square millimeter of kitchen was covered in brown sludge. Wasn't even a nice shade of zucchini & lettuce.

And, no, his girlfriend did not help clear it up. She stormed off - possibly to make some oxtail soup in her blender. :-D
