Obviously a lower class of clientèle in your neck of the woods Ann ;-)

We have a local councillor living at No 1 and a Policeman at No 26, so I think that's reason we often get one of those large lorries chucking salt and grit about.

This afternoon someone came up in a JCB clearing the snow ,( don't know who was, he doesn't live in our road ) problem was, he piled at lot of it where we'd just cleared..... and in front of son's car.
:-| :-| :-| :-| Son's language was not very good !!! No surprise there !
And.... I think his temper melted the snow away :-D

Still snowing here but very lightly.

well at last the sun is out and things are beginning to melt although there's still a stack of the stuff that needs to go

the bay tree which I managed to lop off - well a bit of it - looks pretty silly now, but it has given me an opening to get at the rest, so I shall be down there with the loppers and a ladder and hopefully reduce the height by half - watch this space :-D :-D

Have to laugh at Sandie’s post.

Back in 1980 whatever when the SE had feet of the stuff, someone dug out their long drive, then went to get their vehicle.

By the time they got back to the end of the drive, they found that a plough had come along the road and plied up a 4 foot wall across the end. They weren’t happy either and gave up. :-(

Whilst realising that the severe circumstance in the Valley’s can’t be compared to others, our County/Borough has farmers under contract who come out with tractors fitted with snow ploughs to help clear the side roads in the rural or semi rural areas. It works rather well. Something similar may explain the arrival of the JCB.

Snowing quite heavily here in Valleys but not sticking. Temp -1C about 5am Saturday, but from then on it appears to be between plus 4C and plus 10C 24/7 for whole of next week. Not even cold at night. So little likelihood of more snow in E & Wales and what snow we have should have gone by late Sunday.

Hope I have read hourly forecast correctly :-)

Yep ,same her we've had a flurry of the white stuff.

Lol DET , we saw the funny side after....the thing was the Council snow plough had already been up a while before and pushed a load in front of our 3 cars in a row.
We've knocked down our garden wall to make a parking area for son and dau's cars, hubby's is normally parked at the back of the long drive at the side of the house, but cos of snow he had left it at the front.
I expect it looked like a 'second hand garage forecourt'.
Son's car is the most expensive of them and still has the private reg plates from the previous owner (they are in the process of him having them back ) .That car is his pride and joy and he doesn't want the private plates on it, but it's taking longer for the chap to buy them back.
Son's words were along the lines of 'he purposely dumped it in front of my car cos mine was the best of them lined up , jealous person ,I expect he thinks what a flash git , I dump the snow there! ' :-D :-D but I've changed the wording for obvious reasons ;-) ;-)
It was rather annoying as our cars were off the road and there were no cars parked the other side of the road on the pavement and there are no driveways opposite ,so he did have a choice..but he chose to dump it on the pavement our side, still it gave son a bit more exercise and toned his biceps a bit more ;-) ;-)

Just seen this on weather report on Yahoo

"Snow has begun falling in parts of southern England, prompting fears of ice and disruption in the Monday morning rush hour.

There was expected to be a covering of up to six cms (2.4ins) in some areas."

:-( :-( Thought we had come through the snow problems

JustJohn Report 13 Feb 2013 08:41

Woke up to half an inch in my South Wales valley. And still falling :-( :-(

Edit. Our snow here (quite thick now) due to turn to rain later and, with lows of 3C tonight, little chance of it sticking till Thursday morning.

But looks a bit more serious in north of England and Scotland - though temperatures there look quite mild into the weekend. :-)

Ann with stars....this little part between Conwy and say,Prestatyn seem to be different..
I used to live half a mile up from Prestatyn and it was a different world...come down towards Colwyn Bay and you wouldn't think it was the same area!
I used to work in sales and my boss lived in Rhuddlan and would ask me to go and work somewhere..don't think he believed me when I said I couldn't get out of my drive!
It is drizzling at the moment...roll on Spring!

Brenda, As you know I used to live not far from Old Colwyn in 1970's and I used to travel that old A55 every day. It used to be 2C difference once you climbed up to top of Rhuallt. And a further 2C when you climbed from Holywell up towards Milwr and Pentre Halkyn.

Often I had a jumper on in Pentre Halkyn and shivering and was as warm as toast when I got out in Colwyn Bay area 20 minutes to west:-D

Similar down here between Vale and Head of Valleys :-)
