There is only one lake in the Lake District. That is Lake Basenthwaite.

I was a few years older than you, Wend. I was 72 when I finally passed Geography "O" level. Never mind, we teach the young ones it is always worth trying to pass these darned exams ;-)

I'm about the same age as you John and I did 'O' level Geography in the mid 60's - did you have to do several re-takes?

The wettest place in England or Wales is Seathwaite in Lake District with 249 inches of rainfall a year. Remember that from O level geography when I was at school in 70's.

But, living in the Rhondda, I demand a recount :-( :-( :-(

the first black policeman in the UK was called Norwell Gums - I remembered it in case it ever came up in a quiz - it never did!! :-(

I'll do one and hopefully someone else will add ( otherwise there will just be the one useless bit of trivia lol)

'Sam Gamgee's daughter 'Elanor' from Lord of the Rings was played by his real life daughter. Sam was played by Sean Astin whose stepfather John Astin played Gomez in 'The Addams family' ( on tv).

( I have been wondering if they were related for ages but just remembered to google!).
