'Sam Gamgee's daughter 'Elanor' from Lord of the Rings was played by his real life daughter. Sam was played by Sean Astin whose stepfather John Astin played Gomez in 'The Addams family' ( on tv).

( I have been wondering if they were related for ages but just remembered to google!).
