Sasha is an Ex. "Charlottes Harlet" (as she says they were called) she says its a load of Bunkum,it did,nt happen like that,the people were poor yes ,but not like they are portrayed on that show,they had some pride if not money.**M**.Ps. the East end was part of her area. |

My parents lived in Plaistow Newham when I was born, but for some strange reason my mum went to Walthamstow to have me. I know they were young and not very well off, but I would hate to think they lived like that. |

Haven't watched it yet. But the girl in every port wasn't so funny if you were a Naval wife, in the 50s/60s it was quite common for the men to be away for anything up to 2 years - a lot of ports!!! |

No offence taken Barb. My OH was away for 6 months told me some of the exploits that his 'mates' got up to and some very funny stories. But did he or didn't he? He was only 26 when he went. I didn't ask. Probably not as he was quite shy then. :-) |
