How do you find those steam vacs on showers aivlyS ?

I was thinking of getting one, mostly for the shower.Cos ours ( shower) is used up to and often over 4 times a day...pain in the butt to keep clean and shiny !

Clean is easy enough..,but not streak free and shiny!

Edit ....have to close down and go on laptop.

aivlyS

aivlyS Report 3 Feb 2013 00:42

Yes it will get it streak free .. I do everything with it windows , unit glass , glass topped tables .. just wash them then it sucks all the water away , no water to run down no streaks ...

I have dedicated a week to Spring cleaning when the kids were at home (they were responsible for their own rooms). I have to confess to paying someone to help a few times. A young lad who was a professional cleaner but he was also a friend so it was mate's rates :-D

Since the children have left we tend to do one room at a time, hubby does the whole bathroom himself, we share the kitchen, I wash all the crystal, dinner services and my large collection of ugly mugs..lolol

We have antique furniture so that has to be looked after every couple of months.

So don't really have a Spring clean cos I couldn't manage it in a week :-( with me it's an endless chore keeping up with it all. At least it's spread out over the year ;-)

Edit: having two places to clean doesn't help, but the apartment is properly cleaned twice a week :-D then I have a lie down..lol

aivlyS~~
So the vac thingy you have is just that, a vac ? Not a steam cleaner as well ?

I was looking at for one that could steam clean and vac too...
Tho not too worried about the steam cleaning

Still it is very useful to know that those vacs do work, great for patio doors when you don't know if the streaks are inside or outside :-|

What make is it ? I've been looking at Karcher ,they do the both I believe, but I can't my head around.. if you steam clean an area with high powered steam, thats going to turn into water and you have to mop it up !

aivlyS

aivlyS Report 3 Feb 2013 01:36

Yes I have the Karcher ... it is just a vac you cannot steam clean glass the glass will crack , way too hot ..wash the glass none of that sprays just wash it then vac it away no streaks .

So is the Karcher for windows a Karcher Vac? Sorry getting a bit confused, we do have a steam cleaner we use on the kitchen floor but would like something for the windows.

Although we don't Spring clean the whole house, we do tend to deep clean certain rooms. It's probably the angle of the spring (and autumn) sun which shows up the grime.

We're working up to do the living room. It was planned to do it in the autumn but other events got in the way + procrastination! Walls and ceiling to be washed down, and a carpet cleaner hired. The glassware (wine/drink glasses and glass shelves) tends to be done at the same time.

I have put up a separate thread as would like an answer to my query if possible. :-)
