Chris. Good point :-D And I can assure you I was no gentleman in those days. Far from. :-( :-(

I loved a couple of those 33 in a small way. But would have been quite happy to have remained a confirmed bachelor (in the old sense of that word - country house, dogs, guns, girlfriends on hand). But when I moved to North Wales in 1976 aged 29, I met my match. And I have often thought that if I could have created my perfect woman, that would have been my OH. So, so lucky. :-D :-D :-D

Sylvia is not the only who hasnt given her opinion on same sex marriages, neither have I , I have contributed a load of ramblings but not once expressed an opinion.

JustJohn Report 8 Feb 2013 13:37

Yes, but you are too shy to give your opinions, Hayley ;-)

A civil partnership marriage doesnt lawfully qualify as NOK.,,,,,,,,,unless wishes are made clear and agreed to all parties,a living blood relative still has the rights as NOK.

all the benifit gains apply to an unmarried man and woman living together so apply to a man-man- woman-woman civil partership....

Rambling

Rambling Report 8 Feb 2013 13:52

The way I see it is this

No one will be forced to attend a gay marriage
No one will be forced to perform a gay marriage ( if something is against your conscience you can't BE forced to do it )
No gay couple will be forced to marry.
No mixed gender couple who believe in marriage will believe in it less.

If the Christian church can put aside the words "till death us do part" and allow divorcees to marry, it can just as surely cast aside words written thousands of years ago by men who weren't Christians?

"The sabbath was made for man, not man for the sabbath ":-) the 'church' was made for us all, not us made for 'the church'?

will be back if not struck by a lightening bolt on the way to the PO :-)

Thanks, aivlyS. Very interesting points. Agree with a lot of what you wrote :-D :-D

Ohhhh!! It was Rose. Still waiting for your thoughts on gay marriage, aivlyS :-S :-S

Leave me to my own thoughts about my marital and domestic situation. If I have problems and need to confide, I possibly wouldn't confide in you first anyway.

aivlyS

aivlyS Report 8 Feb 2013 13:59

Well you will have a long wait John I don't post to your demands .

JustJohn

JustJohn Report 8 Feb 2013 14:02

Why come on a longstanding and popular thread about gay marriage and only snipe about domestic things in the lives of other posters that you have no interest in and know absolutely nothing about? Why not just play nicely?

Goerdie Pride, where you refering to Agatha Christies Play "The Mirror Cracked"? :-D And John. your Remark on your Edit,re aivlyS and Carol not wishing to be in a "Same Sex Marriage with you" rather Impossible I would think ,unless of course you regard yourself as "Female".

JustJohn

JustJohn Report 8 Feb 2013 14:09

Merlin. Just proves I know nothing about aivlyS. I expect she is female, but do not know. I won't ask if you know, otherwise I will be accused of "stalking" again. :-( :-(

GeordiePride Report 8 Feb 2013 14:09

Merlin - :-D :-D :-D
I feel so inferior to John as he had 27 more girlfriends than I did. :-( :-(

JustJohn Report 8 Feb 2013 14:18

GP. I rather think Elton John and Paul O'Grady have had more girlfriends that you. And both married a woman. And both have at least one child :-D ;-)

I got to 29 and thought I had had a very dull life in girlfriend stakes. And how bored must I have ben to try and count them and work out how "well" I did each time. Certainly no gentleman would ever do that.

I have been monotonous since I met OH :-D

Merlin Report 8 Feb 2013 14:22

Geordie pride,I never counted (Only my Lucky Stars) but I,ve got oodles of fantastic memories :-D :-D. And John, Re you RR ing aivlyS,s Posts, an old saying comes to mind."If you can,t take the Heat, Stay out of the Kitchen".
