You can always tell a Daily Mail reader. When it is cold outside they wear a swimming costume. And in the heat of the summer, they are always to be found in an overcoat.

And there will be hosepipe bans everywhere this year. Or we will have terrible floods. Daily Mail does not do normal weather on the front page :-| :-| :-|

Sheila this wasn't intentially directed at you, although I must admit it was your post that made me think about it. There are many people on here who are ultra critical of the DM and all media, and often they then go on to quote what they have seen/read. There also have been some who have openly made (IMO) not very nice remarks about the readers of various papers, although to be fair they are not on the boards at the moment.
(I like asparagus too so I am a lost cause :-D)

Muffy, I often read it on line too as it is by far the best web site for clarity of reading and navigation.

nice one John - judgemental as per usual

AnninGlos Report 20 Feb 2013 10:22

As has been said John, criticize the paper not the reader of it or I will delete this thread. I don't find your remark funny.

very Christian :-S

I am just about to go out. Not sure whether to leave this thread up or not if I am not here to monitor remarks like those made by John.

Leave it up Ann..it's an interesting thread. Shame to delete because of one member's deliberate goading.

AnnCardiff

AnnCardiff Report 20 Feb 2013 10:27

agree with Muffy - why let him spoil yet another thread

JoyLouise Report 20 Feb 2013 10:30

Again, Ann, I agree.

I'm more concerned about the muffling of newspapers than which ones people read.

As long as language is not blasphemous there should be no restriction on news - how would we have found out about how MPs are spending our taxes on things such as their duck-houses for instance? They should, as my Dad used to tell me, have kept their noses clean.

OK will leave it. John, behave please. Back soon.

Lowering the tone of the conversation, if they cranked up the price of toilet paper, newspapers would have a purpose again ;-)

I was just agreeing with Trailer Trash. Have noticed over years that Daily Mail (and Express to some degree) always tell us there will be extremes of weather. And it never happens.

I know they have to sell papers in a dwindling market, but....... :-( :-(

@ John. I am unhappy with your comments and think are totally unacceptable. I do not read the DM but some family members and friends do. I can assure you they do not fall into this category.

Muffyxx

Muffyxx Report 20 Feb 2013 10:41

Yes John but you took the pee out of the reader..not the paper..that's what has caused the furore.

Well I read the Mail and have not ventured out in my bikini this month. Like Ann I love the crosswords and puzzles especially in the Sunday edition.

They got the floods right though John!

I made a comment about "you can tell a Daily Mail reader because they wear swimming costumes on cold days and overcoats in a heatwave". Meant to not be personal, just a little light humour. I thought:-( :-(

Ho hum :-S :-S :-S

John, You forget Humour is now banned on GR
