I think you have to double check most articles for yourself.

I do believe that overseas sources should be quoted, there is no need to fly out a huge team from any UK media organisations just to be 'on the spot'. In addition sometimes they will despatch a journalist who doesn't appear to have any background knowledge of the incident they are there to report on.

Thanks for your replies :-D

My father always said the only truthful thing in any newspaper was the date and they have been known to even get that wrong in the past.....

Tabloids - the only source of infallibly correct information on all subjects. And they are really great in lighting the BBQ too.

Insomnia is a swine :-(

Not sure how long I'll be about to develop the convo tonight.....but for what it's worth in answer to Errol's question......

Well as far as the remit of this thread is concerned it's the media isn't it?

There are aspects of the case that are recorded FACTS......investigated by not only the Portugese police but with the help of the UK police as well.....BUT not one of them have made it into our press....only soundbites from their spokesperson.

WHY.

I have no idea..I just went where the research took me. Why they didn't is beyond me.

My knowledge is NOT from the media...not blogs ..or so called *spurious* websites......just pure cold hard fact.

eRRolSheep Report 24 Feb 2013 22:57

Muffy do you think the media is to blame or the people involved in the case?
I think we may be talking at cross purposes.

Errol, I stand by what I say because I know a LOT about it.

I'd LOVE to go into detail about why I know sue is right.....but it would be immediately RR'd and is a waste of time...the original police files are all available and translated on the www...having read them I know the full story isn't being told.......and on that note.......I'm off to bed lol.

It is lovely to see that you are still able to post Lynda and wish you all the best.
Might I suggest as a general comment that if people wish to have a go at me for whatever reason, they start a different thread rather than spoil somebody else's - not directed at you at all Lynda and, again, good to see you

Not harsh Ann it was the truth, it didn't happen to you, so you can't say how I felt. I know that others noticed what was happening, as I had pm's about it. Just because something happened a few years ago, doesn't mean you forget it, well I don't anyway.

I saw the posting before it was reported - it was a pretty harsh thing to say - I have never known Errol be anything but polite and humorous and I've been on here for about ten years

as somebody reported your post I do not know what you said and to be frank am not particularly interested if it is off topic.
As for offending in the past well, was this last week, last year, last decade?
All you are doing is stirring!

~Lynda~ Report 24 Feb 2013 21:12

Ahhh I see Sue, someone don't like straight talking , never mind, I was asked a question, I gave an answer, at least I'm polite :-D

~Lynda~

~Lynda~ Report 24 Feb 2013 21:09

You asked me I told you, if you're offended I'm not bothered, you offended me in the past, and I don't forget what you did, and nor do others.

I find that somewhat offensive "Lynda" (not sure why the quotation marks but still).
I never follow anybody because I have my own mind and was that comment called for on this thread?
If you think I am following you then please do not flatter yourself.
