Rambling Rose I absolutely love it there.
We go very regularly. If you head back up to town from there you can cut through the Roman garden which is also very tranquil.
We also love the Christmas choir concert at the cathedral.

Bodnant Gardens near Colwyn Bay.....the view from main house is to die for. Lots of woodland to explore as well as all the lovely trees and shrubs. Don't think suitable if you are not too good on your pins as can be quite steep in places.

Rose...I live 15 mins from Chester so go there very often to shop. On a warm summers day like nothing more than grabbing a Sarnie from M&S and sitting under a tree in the park with a good book watching the world go by!

I love it by our canal [the Glamorganshire], in any woods - "over the fields" as I call it - at one with nature - especially on a warm summer day lying in the grass listening to the bees buzzing and birds twittering, the lowing of a cow and the bleat of a lamb - heaven on earth for me

Rose I have spent many happy hours sitting by the river in Chester. Taking a stroll to view the paintings displayed against the red sandstone walls by the artists of the area.

My favourite oasis of tranquility is Cregennen Lake on the slopes of Cadair Idris in Gwynedd. One can almost feel the silence, broken only by the cry of a buzzard, or red kite, and the occasional plop of a fish as it breaks the surface of the lake.

Just a short hop from Chester is Parkgate and West Kirby - both wonderful places.
We always go for a walk by the sea at West Kirby opn Boxing Day.
Parkgate is a wonderfully relaxing place - the seaside with no sea.

Mersey....you should go late May and see the Laburnum Arch , it is stunning. Took my dad a few years ago on a warm sunny day and we sat on the top terrace just looking over to the snowdonian range....bliss!

**Ann** I have been a few times, last time I went was late Summer it was stunning, the weather the scenery was extra special....... Everytime I go there is something different ive missed.....Every bench you sit on has its own view tranquil and peaceful no matter how busy it gets........A very special place :-) <3

Mau, I envy you for being on the Northumbrian coast, the loveliest coastline I know.
I live quite near a place called Shouldham Warren, a small but beautiful forrest, which is a pleasure to walk through any time of the day or year - really calming.
