SueMaid Report 26 Feb 2013 09:44

About 4 hours a day but that includes some work I do for a charitable organisation. And sometimes when I'm working I sneak a look on GR to see if there's anyone around ;-)

Mine is powered up as soon as I get up and goes off when I go to bed. I have lots of windows open, GR being one of them, so on and off to check messages and threads.

I also have internet on my phone which is always on as I get pings throughout the day re messages, conversations, news alerts etc. that's how I keep in touch with son :-D and family members overseas.

Sad aren't I?

x

You are modern woman, Sue. I still cannot make a text on my phone :-)

I am in awe of you high-tech posters. Some quite a bit older than me. Very very impressive (and I mean that sincerely folks :-D)

You're not sad Sue - the internet is another window into the World. :-D

Ours goes on within an hour of getting up, and turned off at bedtime. 'My time' is usually until OH gets up, so anything up to 4 hours in the morning, mainly on GR reading through threads. There might be other times during the day when I'll pop on to the site to see what's going on; it depends what else we have planned.

Aaaw thank you for saying I'm not sad :-D

Being stuck in the home is a pain in the butt but at least I can natter all day if I want to without overheating my telephone ;-)

I did alter my notification message as it was going off countless time each hour, I thought it was funny but OH threatened to lob my phone out of the window :-( :-(

Hard to say....My computer is actually in my kitchen and I have it switched on pretty much all day because I watch TV via it...

I nip on during fag breaks and lunchtime....I'm.about more in the evenings if OH is working...less if he isn't..so it differs from day to day.....

Normally the earliest I come online is 6pm (2nite it was 715pm) and usually shut down twixt 10 and 1030pm. I use a standard PC (tower and screen). I do have a mobile with camera /internet capability but tis Pay as Go and I've no wish to use that for the net tho have tried it out for surfin' and Emails. I can text, send pics by mobile etc but I've no wish to be on the rec'g end of endless texts or meaningless chatter so mobile is switched off for best part of day. I always have mobile on when I'm driving alone in the car tho. Sometimes switch mobile on "by arrangement"

Perhaps it's cos I'm a bloke and 72 but I just cannot see the need for constant communication thro the day. I bought my first mobile in 2005 so well versed in their ways.

maggiewinchester Report 26 Feb 2013 20:18

I'm on a computer all day at work, then possibly 2 - 3 hours in the evening, playing games & listening to the radio - more if TV is rubbish.

GinN Report 26 Feb 2013 20:47

Varies. Sometimes 3 to 5 hours a day, sometimes not at all, If I have something I want to Google, I can get really carried away, especially if I'm planning a trip or holiday. Been a bit busy lately, so haven't logged into this site very much. For me, the novelty is starting to wear off, I'm afraid.

Jean :-D
The little things mean the most :-D

Until late last year, my computer was upstairs and at 6:30 I used to go upstairs, listen to the radio and play games on my computer.
My mum stayed with me for a week a couple of years ago. She thought I was just being anti- social, and suggested I stay downstairs & watch TV with her. I told her I always went upstairs at 6 to listen to the radio etc. She suggested we listen to the radio together - not the same. I was only upstairs for an hour!!!

This is the same woman who, when I phoned her would cut me off at 8pm, as her husband HAD to watch TV!!!
(The phone was downstairs, the TV upstairs.)

maggie the little things do mean the most. my comp was also upstairs a few years ago. i used to go up at 9 and play games with the radio on. partner didnt like it as he had to make his own brew while i was up there. i bought a laptop, he wasnt happy with that as he still had to make his own brew. the only brew he made me was in a morning. the rest of day he spent watching the box.. bet hes worn out now having to fend for himself.
