Sharron

Sharron Report 7 Mar 2013 21:52

One lot is six times a day for a period of time and the other is four times a day for a different period of time and then they are both for different numbers of times.

The hardest part of being a carer for me is the bloody organizing.

I really can see why so many people keep stroke victims in bed and don't get them out and doing.

So much detail, so little brain to cope with it!

SylviaInCanada Report 7 Mar 2013 21:36

4 times a day

3 or 4 lots of drops

to be done for up to 4 weeks, or until the specialist says stop?

is that your regime?????

I made a chart when I was doing mine ................ OH just put ticks on a piece of paper!

Sharron

Sharron Report 7 Mar 2013 21:32

Well yours were much easier I expect!

I have made a sort of chart and anybody who puts his drops in initials it or ticks it so I can keep on top of the procedure.

Just waiting for the alarm to do the next lot.

Sharron

OH had great difficulty putting those drops in ................ so I had to do most of them for him

He's been retired 9 years, but still has 2 offices out on campus, and goes in there 4 or 5 days a week .......................... so he HAD to do the lunchtime drops himself. OR persuade one of his colleagues to do it for him.

HE made ME put my own in when I had my cararacts done back in 2001. Refused point-blank to help me :-P :-D

Oh Sharron, I don't envy you the drops routine. My OH had both eyes done one after the other . He now still has to have drops in one eye for another problem every day for the rest of his life, Oh Joy :-(

My life won't be my own for a few weeks now.

The drops regime is amazing.

The South African nurse from the eye unit rang this morning and I put the phone down on her. I thought it was one of my foreign friends who call most days.

Had to ring the unit and apologize and I am not the first!

Watch out Sharron,

Fred will see in every nook and cranny now.

I had my cataracts done when I was 40, I thought i was the only one at the Primary School gates who had wrinkles. Once the catacracts were operated on I could see that I wasnt :-D

Best wishes to Fred for a speedy recovary

Oh Sylvia, your o.h. should think before he speaks lol Glad he is doing well tho.

Sharron, very glad Fred has had the cataract done, has he another to be done as well? My o.h.'s sister had hers done just before and just after Christmas, she is only in her 50's but said the first one was better than the second one, both seem to have settled down now tho.

I am sure Fred is looking forward to seeing and doing lots more lol There'll be no holding him now eh?

Take care and spoil yourself as well as looking after everyone else

MY OH, younger than Fred, had one cataract done last October and the second done on January 9. He is currently waiting for his new glasses to be made.

He is also still trying to live down the first comment he made back in October when I walked into the recovery room to take him home.....................

"Oh, your hair is really white!"
