Daughter posted my Mother's day card (handmade) plus Easter card (also handmade) to keep as she works and likes to send things in time. She posted it on Monday 4th, went into the post office so that she paid correct postage. It still has not arrived.

No card as yet from son either so he probably missed the post.

Shan't be seeing either of them on Mother's day so fed up now. :-( :-(

Oh that's sad Ann, hope they both call you and make you smile.
At least you know your daughter remembered :-)

I think my daughter had forgotten until she arrived last night after work to collect little one (21months) and was given Mother's Day card I had helped little one with at play session.

That could explain the text this morning asking if I was free to go out for a meal tonight!! Her oh's parents are going too. :-D (She is working tomorrow so will have to be today)

Happy Mother's Day Ann <3

Thanks Lyndi, we don't give presents unless maybe we happen to be staying with them but they do both usually send cards. Actually son has been known to send flowers but I hope he isn't going to do that flowers this time of year are so overpriced.

enjoy your meal Lyndi :-) :-)

The shops do seem to put up their flower prices at this time of the year. The card from your daughter might arrive to brighten a murky Monday, one from your son too.

<3 :-D

Nah! He won't Von becaue the chicken for dinner is already in the fridge.

It is really daughter I feel sorry for because I know how upsetting it is to make cards and have them go astray.

Yes, I am sure there is a lot of pilfering goes on, post office is definitely not like it was.

Yes maybe I will be cheered up on Monday. All we had today was my car tax reminder and OH's car insurance reminder - funny nobody pinches them isn't it?

Just heard from daughter that her MiL has not had her card either, identical packets posted same post office, same time. Suspicious?

DazedConfused

DazedConfused Report 10 Mar 2013 20:24

Not necessarily suspicious - are they going to the same area if not then they will go to different Mail Centres and Sorting Offices. And were they posted in same area?

The fact that they have not arrived is bad. You can contact Customer Services, but sadly without sending any letter or package by special delivery there is no way of tracking any item through the system.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 10 Mar 2013 20:28

They were posted at the same time from the same post office in the Winchester area, one to go to the Salisbury area and one to Gloucester.

Purple **^*Sparkly*^** Diamond Report 11 Mar 2013 05:50

If they had been put in a post box you could wonder if it had been sabotaged, youngsters do sometimes set fire to post in red post boxes but for the items to be sent over the counter in a post office and then not delivered is disgraceful.

I do hope they turn up so your daughter's hard work isn't completely wasted but such a shame when you don't get them on the right day.

AnninGlos Report 11 Mar 2013 09:49

Ah, found out a bit more, there were three items posted two handed over the counter weighed etc, one arrived one didn't (mine), one posted in box, just a card, not arrived.

But I have to think now that the post office may not be entirely to blame, it seems that mine didn't (for some reason best known to daughter, who is normally very sensible) have the post code on it. Now there are two roads with the same address in the Gloucester area, albeit different villages. So maybe it will still arrive having done the rounds, if the person living at the other address bothers to return it to the post office. If that is what happened can't really blame the sorting office, although before our long serving postman retired it wouldn't have happened as he has a note up in the sorting office to alert people to the two roads with the same name.
