He is not a happy bunny because a warden (over tannoy)
calling for breakfast, mimiced the Speaker and called 'Order order, the Right Honourable Member for Wandsworth North'.

He then had to walk past dozens of prisoners all laughing.
Sounds as if he has lost his sense of humour as well as his freedom..

OH and I both thought it funny when we heard it.

He was warned by Aitken what to expect and advised to accept it. He will suffer more if he doesn't. He has to learn that he is no different to any other prisoners now.

If that is the worst he'll get, he will be a lucky man.

Agreed. He's not the first and won't be the last high profile prisoner....the others had to tough it out...he should be treated no differently.

It will do the arrogant Right Honorable Gentleman no harm at all, perhaps it will go some way to teach him the pitfalls of being a cheat and a liar... Happy days Mr Huhne.

I think they should grant his wish so prisoners elsewhere can have a laugh as well :-D

Had he had his wits about him, he should have bowed and waved.

He requested a move because other prisoners were demanding money from him.

This reminds me so much of an episode from 'Porridge',when the judge is sent to jail. :-D

I think it's hard to find anything funny about prisoners demanding money with menaces.

His punishment is being deprived of his freedom, not having to put up with intimidation from other inmates.

unfortunately it's the name of the game - he'll just have to weather it and if he ignores it will stop eventually - were it me I'd just join in

The thread isn't about demands for money.

I think the best punishment for both of them would have been to put them both in the same cell for eight month.

According to various news websites it's because he was being intimidated by other inmates - that's why I added.

I think if we have prison warden/officers like that then no wonder we have the problems in prisons that we have today, Wardens are supposed to treat all prisoners in the same way and have a strict code of conduct.

Purpose,........ The Professional Standards Statement

Prison Service staff are expected to meet high standards of professional and
personal conduct in order to deliver the Prison Service Vision. All staff are
personally responsible for their conduct. Misconduct will not be tolerated and
failure to comply with these standards can lead to action which may result in
dismissal from the Service.
This document therefore identifies and clarifies the key standards of
professional and personal conduct expected of all staff.
It should be noted that this is not an exhaustive list. Any conduct that could
undermine the work of the Service is not acceptable.
Prison Service Principles
The Prison Service Principles underpin the work of the Service and all staff
are expected to act in accordance with them. Staff must therefore:
1. Deal fairly, openly and humanely with prisoners and all others
who come into contact with them.
2. Encourage prisoners to address offending behaviour and
respect others.
3. Value and support each other’s contribution.

Conduct Expected
The following sets out the professional and personal standards of conduct

General
Staff must carry out their duties loyally, conscientiously, honestly and with
integrity. They must take responsibility and be accountable for their actions.
Staff must be courteous, reasonable and fair in their dealings with all
prisoners, colleagues and members of the public. They must treat people
with decency and respect.

I was hoping I wouldn't be hearing so much about them after they were sentenced but I should have guessed the media would keep banging on about them :-S
