that is good to know Island.

I think they are about to push the problem of the spread of measles. Sometimes their story lines when topical like that can raise awareness so I hope this gets through to people.

No mention of Jackie not being his real mother or finding him on police station steps all those years ago - the latter being so out of character for the Jackie of the time. They're just rewriting Tyrones back story. I bet Margi Clarke is pretty hacked off.

Jackie (Margie Clarke) wasn't Tyrone's real mam. Think she must have found baby Tyrone on the steps of the police station and took him home and brought him up as her own son. All this was found out after Jackie died, and Tyrone's "dad" came on the scene and told Tyrone all this. Anyway, Tyrone traced his real Gran (Maureen Lipman) and it turns out that his gran's daughter, Cassie, (who died in South Africa) is his real mam - who was a drug addict. Tyrone's gran abandoned baby Tyrone on the steps at the police station, as she didn't think Cassie would be a fit enough mother.

Hope you can follow all that!!! :-D

Scuse me, but who is hell fire is Cassie/Cassandra?

As Island reminded us, she was called Jackie (I forgot the name) played by Margie Clarke. So who is Cassandra?

Are the scriptwriters losing the plot, or just taking us for nitwits?

Dazed and Confused? Just a bit!

:-S :-S

Oh I do like Maureen Lipman and feel she brought some humour back into Corrie but this storyline of Tyrone's feels very forced.

And yes Ann, good to see you back posting. I find it easier on my desk top too.

Island

Island Report 28 Jan 2019 09:51

You're right Mtg, Margi Clarke played Tyrones mother, Jackie Dobbs. Absent father.

What I find ludicrous is the idea that Jackie wrote a will! So out of character :-\

I just don't like Evelyn or Maureen Lipmans limited character studies. Has she not got an ology?

I think you’re spot on

MotownGal

MotownGal Report 28 Jan 2019 08:48

Wasn't Tyrone the son of the character played by Margi Clarke? He never knew who his father was?

Are we gonna find out that old chestnut that Evelyn is his mother, and his 'mother' was his sister?

I think the scriptwriters forget how long the audience has been watching.

I could be wrong! :-S :-S
