A tax rebate, yes I received my first one ever late last year for £136.70 and was pleasantly surprised, on receiving my tax code for the coming new tax year I was told that because I had underpaid tax of £136.70 my tax code would be adjusted! Bearing in mind I am 81 years old I am beginning to wonder what idiots are employed by the tax office. Am I going to question their actions, no! it would be a wasted and frustrating exercise, have better things to do with my time like counting how many coppers and small silver coins I have in my piggy bank :-D am saving for a rainy day so by the time the sun does shine I will have made up the shortfall and will be able to treat myself to a new deckchair :-) |
