terryj Report 12 May 2013 18:09

as i used to say
giving up ciggys is easy
i've done it hundreds of times

mind it is 29 years since my last one from 60 a day
keep going its worth it

supercrutch Report 12 May 2013 18:10

Now, now children........if I had put days that might have been a more amusing thread ;-) ;-) ;-)

It hasn't been easy and some days I could absolutely MURDER a ciggie.

It took over 3 weeks before I could drink tea, tasted vile (I don't have sugar in drinks). Food wasn't particularly appealing after the gut infection and my taste buds were playing havoc. Cornflakes were great, toast was strange :-( but I craved scrambled eggs on toast...lolol

It will be interesting to see what I end up disliking altogether.

I now look back and think stupid of me. :-)

ButtercupFields Report 12 May 2013 18:44

Good gal, Sueping....for a moment I feared you had not had a bm for all those hours but of course that would have been impossible, wouldnt it....or would sure someone can Google it... :-D

Scrambled eggs always does it for me, no matter how I feel.

supercrutch Report 12 May 2013 19:06

Thank you :-D

I wouldn't have got this far without being trapped in hospital for so long, that's what gave me the head start.

BC, please do not mention BMs, I had enough of those thanks to the hospital acquired infection to last me a lifetime :-P....lolol

Mersey Report 12 May 2013 19:08

No weight gain yet but then I'm still adjusting to no food for 6 days and very little for the last 2 weeks.

I have no doubt though that I will gain some weight because of not smoking and not moving either :-( roll on 12 weeks post op when I may be able to ditch one crutch ;-)

It will indeed ............ but you will slowly stop getting those urges.

You just have to learn some distraction techniques!
