Yes a very good reminder of what happened to Henry's wives and had to be learnt by heart at school,I was always interested in history lesson.

Many books have been written about the Tudors.A lot of documents/letters have survived,but not all so quite a lot of supposition through the centuries,very good material for historians to get their teeth into :-D

Sorry I didn't get back to you Cherry *smacks wrist*......yes it certainly does make interesting reading and so much intrigue! :-0..........suppose we do feel sympathy for Anne's plight,but by all accounts, she appeared to be a contriving woman who,much like Henry, wanted power.
Just her bad luck that she couldn't provide the king with a legitimate son (if there was such a thing in those days.) ;-)

certainly liked his own way.

Watched it on iplayer this evening.

still maintain that Henry V111 was a mentalist and once he managed to usurp one wife...took it upon himself to do it to another when circumstances didn't fit his expectations............

I felt this programme gave a good account of the rise and fall of Thomas Cromwell. Any students of Professor Diarmaid MacCulloch of Oxford University must have done well in their exams,he'd be a very good tutor.

Yes agree Emma Ann's probaby could have been better but the Thomas Cromwell programme should be good.
Tudor history is certainly interesting. atm I'm reading 'Bring up the bodies' (after Wolf Hall) .....bloody times!!!

Will also watch this one. Hope it's better than Ann Boleyn.

Missed last night's programme, unfortunately, but am looking forward to the one about Thomas Cromwell on BBC2 tonight. The Tudors certainly are an interesting lot!

I was disappointed with the programme.
Views given that we all have one way or another
on the subject, historians and authors alike, I think
they were well paid for very little imho.

I am very concerned about this thread.
Once again members are keen to discuss terrible events before the facts are out. Has Ms Boleyn's family even been informed of her tragic and terrible demise yet?
Has Mr Henryeight been charged or arrested?
Should his name even be released at this moment in time and should we be speculating before the Yeomen of the Guard have even issued a press statement or tweeted or posted on facebook, let alone carried out their own investigations?

Brilliant television, but frustrating - I like it when the answers are in the back.
