Sharron, you really are a gem. You sound so hard hearted, but we know that you really love the old man. And I am sure he loves you too.

Well done Sharron for organising it for Fred. Quite a feat getting everyone to co-operate and to be there. Didn't he wonder why you were there?

;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)

No, I always go to the village lunch.

It was all arranged in a couple of days. The woman who books in the diners and the woman who was doing the presentation.

A couple of people were told to bring their cameras because something was happening.

We always have two long table in the hall so there was another table put across the top behind where he sits. We took the bottles of cava and his bluenose in the car, along with a couple of photographs of him in the navy and his other medals which we displayed on the table.

It was a lovely, cosy, villagey event with about thirty people present.

I believe he is available for pantomime this year.

He is not going out wearing his medals.

He already behaves like Idi Amin. I don't want him thinking he is King of Scotland.

I now have some of the photos on the computer but don't know how to send them.

OH was sitting beside him and has a bit of a sequence.

There is the" I hope she gets this bloody speech over with so that I can get my dinner" one and the "What was that she said?" Then we have him crying as she gives it to him and the next one when he drowns his sorrows in the toast. Then he is showing it off and the last one is the German guy with him.

Orders please for when I find out how to send them.

Was a bit mortified to hear that one or two people at the lunch had wondered if he understood what was happening.

He can't articulate well, due to the stroke, but he still has it all upstairs.
and he stays on top of things.

I hope the woman who told me now has the chance to make this known. Probably people have avoided coming to speak to him because they thought he wouldn't understand them.
