Thanks - I managed to get something done about the water well eventually - posh new houses were built across the road from it and these people were using the well in which to dump their garden rubbish - I was incensed, particularly as we have a fortnightly collection for garden rubbish

Last time I went to look at it, it had been cleaned out, a notice had been stuck on it along with the photograph I mentioned - whether that's still there I don't know - might take a look

just re-read my stories - my Dad's sister Margaret, the last remaining sibling died aged 104 about three years ago

As for my Dad's brother Harold, I eventually tracked his family down through this site and there is one cousin still living - Betty - we've met up lots of times and she's lovely. We found we had all the same family photographs and shared such a lot of information
