Well?

This has now been going on for five days.
At times the site has been better today - and at times worse. I am still getting "signed out".

Yesterday GR said...

"We would like to apologise again for the current site performance. We know that it is running slowly for some of our members. The problem occurred since we released improvements to the site on Monday. Since then our development team have been working tirelessly to fix the issue, but today we have taken to decision to roll back the changes we made one by one so that we can identify what exactly is causing the site to be slow. We are really sorry for any inconvenience caused and will keep you updated with our progress."

Why did it take them four days to make the decision to roll back the changes?

That is usually pretty high on the list of priorities in finding out a problem with a website!

Four days? Crazy!

We were told that we would be updated as to progress.

As there has been no update can we also assume that there has been no progress?

Where did you all go? :-(

this site is the worst I have ever known it - suddenly locked out - "log in to reply" - try to log in, can't do it - close down and start again - same thing happens again - it's a joke

eRRolSheep

eRRolSheep Report 23 Aug 2013 17:08

Well guess what - I have just been signed out AGAIN!

As for seeing which threads are old and which have new posts - I have a better chance of winning the lottery.

I could list all the other problems I have logged over the past five days (and the list is growing all the time) but there are not enough days in the year.

Somehow I don't think the IT "team" at GR will be receiving their Christmas bonus this year!

Absolutely ridiculous and disgraceful !

Gee

Gee Report 23 Aug 2013 17:19

Yep, keeps logging me out too.

That's one of the times when it will affect people on PAYG or capped data limit

AnninGlos Report 23 Aug 2013 17:30

I don't seem to be getting problems just now *crosses fingers and toes. Not been logged out at all, got thrown out once but didn't need to log in. I am on the nz/ site

AnnCardiff

AnnCardiff Report 23 Aug 2013 17:35

I'm on za

eRRolSheep

eRRolSheep Report 23 Aug 2013 17:39

They are not different sites. There is only one actual site.

AnnCardiff

AnnCardiff Report 23 Aug 2013 18:33

course I already knew that ;-)

Renes

Renes Report 23 Aug 2013 18:34

So Errol
Are you saying when we log thru . za. .au etc ..

we are not coming in thru a different door ..so to speak ...

I appreciate there is only one site ...but thought the servers may be different for differing web addresses

eRRolSheep

eRRolSheep Report 23 Aug 2013 18:46

Think of web addresses as sort of signposts.

All they do is point you to the website.

The website is not www.genesreunited.co.uk etc etc

That is merely an "address" to point your browser to the right place so there can be more than one signpost if you see what I mean.

For example, I own several different web addresses but they do not each have their own website - they merely all point to the same place.

AnnCardiff

AnnCardiff Report 23 Aug 2013 18:50

I knew that as well :-D

Renes

Renes Report 23 Aug 2013 18:51
