My OH has a 3 car garage full, a brick built workshop. a caravan, 6 cars (including the 8 seater Toyota) All the upstairs dorma level, most of the cellar, and the sitting room with computer and all his bits and pieces which come out 1/2 way into the room. I am not allowed to touch any of HIS stuff even to clean and it is driving me mad. All the cars are filled with stuff as is the caravan, that is why I referred to the dinning room as my dinning room. It is the only place apart from the kitchen that is not filled with HIS things. He is always telling me it is his house, his garden even though we have been married for 55 years, so a claim to the dinning room and kitchen is not a lot in the swing of things. I like the sock bit, may be tempted, let you know :-S but :-D :-D |

Knew I'd get a laugh with you lot and I needed one. Some of the suggestions are fab. My granddaughter found it for me and carried it up the stone steps. Carrying up is difficult owing to my having ruptured my hamstring 3 weeks ago. Now you tell me why if he could carry down a large upright vac, he couldn't manage a little stool if he needed it. I am :-S |

Oh and Dizzi a vacuum is a thing that sucks up the muck and then gets it all over you when you empty it. :-D :-D |

Think its called controlling behaviour. Would love my oh to hide all housework material. I would think I am on holiday lol Mine is controlling but to his own advantage. |

Does said vac have a powerful suction and one of those crevice nozzles? Would recommend waiting until the next time he has his back turned and is bending over ........ |

Elaine, I know how difficult things are for you. I am not quite as restricted altho I do get a lecture at times, Sit down, I want to talk to you - like I am a five year old! Even if I am in the midst of cooking dinner or something, I am supposed to obey. Shame he wasn't as strict with his kids when they were running rings round him and their Mum. |

Perhaps you should get a large tube of Superglue and glue his tools together or whatever, give him something to do instead of nicking your vac.Personally I would have thought you,d have gone out a bought the most expensive one available. :-D :-D |
