Allan ~ isn't there a skin clinic near you?

Our local medical centre has separate rooms for podiatrists, psychologists, hypnotherapists etc, and a skin clinic... most of the GPs are at the clinic one day a week.

I had a couple of "iffy things" taken off (they were no-problem moles), but not with evil stuff like was used on you!!! That sounds horrendous. I was given a local anasthetic...... snip snip, stitch stitch; stitches taken out a few days later, no problems.

Your doc sounds like a psycho!

LadyScozz

I only mentioned this to my doctor as I had to see her anyway. I didn't think that her name was Jekyll

A week on, the thing has not gone let alone come back.

I'd be suing for the recovery of costs if I wasn't being bulk-billed :-D :-D

Allan

Allan Report 25 Mar 2014 21:53

I did have kidney stones once. :-(

They say that is the closest that a male can get to the mild pains of childbirth :-D :-D

AnnCardiff

AnnCardiff Report 25 Mar 2014 21:57

in your dreams!!!! it's easy - well pleasurable getting the baby in there in the first place, but getting it out is a different kettle of fish - imagine a kidney stone the size of a tombstone!!!

Gee whizz, women have it easy compared to us males.

I have been diagnosed with an industrial-like deafness due to OH's constant nagging :-D :-D

Allan ~ Doesn't your local GP do regular skin checks?

We get a letter every two years reminding us to have a check at the skin cancer clinic.

They send a letter to all patients over 50 (I think that's the age), but I think they should start at an earlier age. We're in the sub-tropics, most people spend a lot of time outdoors.....at the beach.......and if the swimmers & surfers wear sunblock it soon washes off.

The last time OH had a check, he saw a new doctor, very young. She asked if he had southern European ancestors....... until he took off his shirt & socks & she saw his golfers tan :-D

btw....... the pic on the left is our local beach. On a busy day we might see 6 people and a dog. :-D

Hi Scozz

No, not to my knowledge.

OH's GP, who is in the same Practice as mine, did do a bowel cancer screening recently for her.

I do have some larger areas of damage other than in 'story', but another doctor checked one of those without any comment
