Manuka Honey has good healing properties but it has to be the sterilised type to be recommended by health care people. There was an interesting thing on tv about it a few weeks ago, can't recall the name of the programme.

Hope each day gets better for you Gwen

MINES EVERY 3 DAYS BY DISTRICT NURSE

Elizabeth2469049 Report 2 Apr 2014 21:24

I'd never heard of it before either - double-checked with the nurses as I thought I'd misheard! district nurses coming round two or three times a week - and I think they'd tried honey first, which was also a new one on me!

apparently Manuka honey has marvellous healing properties - it's pricey though

I was eventually given the silver dressing after a bad cut after a car accident refused to heal for months - and it did speed things up a lot, hope it does for you!

Gwen, your road to recovery has been full of potholes but I am sure the only way is up for you now, up and away to your caravan and doing more things that make you happy, rather than being stuck at home or in hospital.

Don't try to rush things tho, make sure your leg heals well before gadding about. Try to eat really well too as that helps healing from the inside.

love and hugs

Crieky Dizzie, have you ever tried to type with fingers crossed. Glad you're on the way to recovery and you have had every right to moan. You should hear me when on the loo trying to evacuate from the diverticular problems. Mind you I do use the appropriate language mainly s..t. In there fighting with you. <3 Elaine.
