:-D Susan wiv- I don't watch it either - but found the comments in the Guardian 'interesting' :-D

PH - Brucie may live a lot longer in the warmth of 'abroad' :-D

~~~~~~~ Morning Susan ........oh no please not Anton :-(
Thank you for the soggy sleeve PH :-P
OneFootInTheGrave Report 6 Apr 2014 09:43
I think either David Cameron or Nick Clegg should replace Brucie as they are both experts at dancing - their way round giving straight answers to questions :-D :-D :-D
DazedConfused
DazedConfused Report 6 Apr 2014 10:30
I must say that I think the ideal person would be John Barrowman, he is everything that Brucie is, an actor, singer and dancer. So like Brucie he would understand the complicities of the dance routines.
Or Zoe Ball - she is so enthusiastic (I know many do not like her!)
Anton, Yuk he is so slimy
Vernon Kay oh no please
MotownGal
MotownGal Report 6 Apr 2014 10:56
Oh gosh no, not John Barrowman. The show would be all about HIM.
No criticism intended Susan wiv, I was merely saying that some of the contributors did not hold back.
No Vernon Kay either. It has to be an entertainer who can keep the show going, know a little of what they are talking about, but not to hog the programme.
But I do like little Claudia.
AnninGlos Report 6 Apr 2014 11:17
I don't think everyone will all agree ever. I never minded Bruce, thought I would like to be as active as he is when his age. I don't like CW, do like Anton and also John Barrowman. Can tolerate Vernon Kaye. Maybe Arlene could come back as the presenter???
Mauatthecoast Report 6 Apr 2014 12:11
I love Strictly and ( although I don't dislike him ) it probably is right time for Brucie to 'retire'.
Please not Anton, Barrowman or Norton :-(.. or Claudia, she's most likely a lovely person but speaks like a nine year old.:-S....she's 42 !!
My choice would be Michael Ball :-D he's popular, is an entertainer and on BBC ....but could he commit? love to see his face on a Saturday night :-D
edit: and he loves Strictly so a winner all the way :-D
ButtercupFields
ButtercupFields Report 6 Apr 2014 12:14
I think John Barrowman would be good, he is just enough OTT not to irritate too much. Plus he has a devastating smile :-D
I like Claudia but she has to deal with her neck first. It swivels from left to right in an alarming way. Deal with this and you will have my vote, Claudia! Plus have seen her one morning on my way to the park, and she looks lovely even without all that slap on her face. :-D
Oooh just an off the cuff suggestions.
Someone who is chatty.
Someone who is a dancer.
LIONEL BLAIR?
Although I do quite like the idea of Michael Ball. He used to irritate the life out of me, but I think he has mellowed..............................or I have!
'Emma'
'Emma' Report 6 Apr 2014 13:41
According to the papers it's Claudia's if she wants it,
it could also be offered to Alan Titchmarch :-)
Dawnieher3headaches Report 6 Apr 2014 14:14
Not keen on Claudia its the eyes they never look open glad Bruce has gone was getting very cringe worthy.
Although Anton makes me smile its a bit different to presenting Hole in the Wall isnt it he can get away with that but then he is at a loose end now Erin is otherwise engaged.
Alan Titchmarsh not sure he has a clue on dancing maybe they will get someone new and fresh .
ChrisofWessex Report 6 Apr 2014 14:20
Claudia - no real feelings on this one as at least she will be standing.
It is sad that at the age of 42 she has still not learned how to sit properly - now THAT really does irritate me.
Mauatthecoast
Mauatthecoast Report 6 Apr 2014 14:45
Titchmarsh ? nooooooo :-0 I did think of Lionel but he's nearly as old as Brucie!
BC Claudia is very 'nice' on Sewing B but appears (to me ) as being soo naïve in lots of subjects :-(....so Michael for me :-D
Annx Report 6 Apr 2014 15:05
Well, I never really liked Bruce Forsyth in anything, but have to say he was good at putting people at their ease and was always upbeat and cheerful. He was a true professional and took the job seriously and I must say, what other man of 86 do you see looking so immaculate in such smart well fitting suits on tv today?
I think he is ready to retire and he did fluff a few lines and make a few mistakes, but I have admiration for him doing a good job for many years and wouldn't want to diminish an 86 year old's achievement with too much criticism or harshness.
I'd be happy with Anton or John Barrowman to take the job. I just hope they don't do what they do on so many other programmes and bring someone in who knows nothing about the subject. I don't mind CW as Tess doesn't seem to add anything.
There......AnninG is so right......whatever happens we won't all be happy!! :-)
Yes, Marlene should come back!!
JustGinnie
JustGinnie Report 6 Apr 2014 16:39
I'd like Michael Ball but please not Anton, Vernon or John B. I would have to stop watching if JB took over. Claudia I could cope with or even Zoe Ball.
Maybe they should have Ian (Waite?) the dancer that does BBC 2 with Zoe in the week, although I suppose the presenter doesn't need to be a dancer.
I'd like it to be Claudia and Anton
