For goodness sake David, I don't think anyone wants anymore updates or discussions about your bowel movements! Can we just leave it at that PLEASE!

Thank you magpie.
Leaned on my desk swing left leg forward and back (to simulate walking) then out to the side and back several times, then resume the swing. Leave out the iron tablet, drink another cup of water, pant the abdomen... collectively all helped
The inactivity and the iron tablet must have been the cause of the problem

Get yourself to the drs David... and stop messing about!

You should be discussing personal matter with your GP not on a public forum.. :-)

Not if it's caused by illness, diverticulitis, irritable bowel, Chrohn's disease etc or cancer! If it's a real problem it needs checking out, not a quack cure.

Get yerself down the pub, and a few pints down yer neck. Works for me. Actually, it is one problem that I have never suffered from, but I do eat lots of fibre.

Yes Sylvia, I agree with that.

Ken ........ opinions do vary

But coffee, and to a lesser extent tea, are diuretics, so you pee more, which doesn't help too much when you want more water going into the intestines not to the kidneys.

That was the main reason that I said on here that they don't count

Kense

Kense Report 14 Jun 2016 22:43

Sylvia, I have to disagree about tea and coffee not counting. All the sites I looked at in regard to daily water intake, say that other fluids including tea, coffee, milk and fruit juices do count in the 8 by 8 rule.

Avoid the alcohol though.

This is it, constipation can be something or nothing, so a professional diagnosis is the only sensible way to go if it's a real problem. Obviously it's up to the individual, but I don't think a lay person can or should give advice except general things like plenty of fluid which would not be harmful in the event of a more serious problem.
