What about the address in Rochester? There's a couple who appeared there right after Hereford.

Good find Rose, only he doesn't use his initial for his second name like before but his wife has correct name.

Anne has contacted me with the contents of the e-mail sent to her. The name is correct for the 3rd wife but I have found 2 woman same name on the electoral roll with different males, no Williams found and several years covered. It maybe true she is his widow, then again we can't tell. Have told Anne to be cautious if she contacts her.

I have also told Anne about your find Rose and sent her the address and suggested a letter 1st to this possible uncle may be the best way.

Pat

Edit it is very late here so off to bed, goodnight, I will check here and my messages in the morning.

2 of the 3 marriages I see are for another person with the same middle initials in Bristol, so not your dad.

Mary Report 7 Oct 2016 10:03

I sent Anne a PM last week about a man with the same name as her dad marrying in Bristol 1970 and 1986.

I did apologise to Anne for getting her hopes up after I realised he wasn't her dad, as his age suggests he was born about 1952 when I found him on electoral records.

This is a good example of why it is important to post on the thread and give a rough idea of what is being sent in a PM.

Behind the scenes work undermines the other helpers; and, in this case, lead Anne to believing her father was dead.

It's possible he's emigrated as he seems to have disappeared, I think the possible uncle is the best bet for contact. Anne has the address for Rochester and have advised putting a stamped self addressed envelope in with the letter. Hopefully this will lead to Anne's father.

Sometimes it is not possible to post on open thread as people are living and giving out too much information is not accepted.

I didn't mean to undermine any ones help, just trying to abide by the rules of this site.

Pleas note I have edited the message earlier to remove any names of people who might still be living!

Something along the lines of "sending you a PM regarding possible marriages in Bristol". would have sufficed.
