It's sad ain't it, and sometimes you wonder who are the numbskulls that approve these plans, my mum would be shocked now to see Wrexham, she worked in Littlewoods for many years and then the town was buzzing :-(

Am going to get me Jim jams on before the new programme starts at nine, will be lurking <3 <3 <3

Don't forget to lock up or Fly will shout :-D :-D

Town is full of cheapie shops now.
I actually like them!
Charity shops, banks, a couple of shoe shops, a Wilkinsons, Asda, the market, solicitors and estate agents. Not much else really.

They built a new theatre/ cinema/ restaurant complex at an end of town that had got run down. It doesn't seem to have brought much trade into the town itself I don't think.
They knocked it all down, including an historic hotel (one time Coach House and Inn) and pub to do so.

The same thing happened in Wrexham...they built a shopping, cinema etc complex just at the bottom end of the town so the centre is now deserted to what it used to be like..it's a shame really

Little woods and Woolies had a big store in the centre and both closed down Sparks and Next went to the new bit :-(

It's cos it's in the town centre Ann, with limited parking spaces. Otherwise people would park and go to town instead.

The Town M&S closed and moved to a large premises in the out of town Enterprise park not far from me. It has killed the town centre, which is struggling now.
The parking there is free, but then it has huge car parks.

**Ann** Report 10 Oct 2016 20:42

No Sparks :-0 :-0 :-0

You got to spend to park....No Asda near me does that, it's all free in most supermarkets although there is a time limit in some town supermarkets :-(

JemimaFawr Report 10 Oct 2016 20:38

oooooo those sound Yum! :-D

I had to park in Asda Carpark to go to town, so needed to spend the obligatory £5 in store! :-D :-D :-D

No Marks & Spencers in our town centre now!
But not many people bother going to town now anyway! :-0 :-0 :-0 :-D

I know Jem, he was still upset when he was telling us about it...poor thing only had some coveralls and spare T shirt in the van...he tried Asda and a few other places for some spare pants in his lunch but he couldn't get any.....his work gear was covered in blood :-( :-(

There's always something that needs doing!
The houses will be there long after us!

Years ago my boss (also a good friend) relayed some good advice she'd been given ....

.... if you ask someone what good things they remember about their childhoods, it won't be a clean house!

on the other hand ... they would remember if it was stinking I suppose :-D :-D :-D :-D
