One of my lecturers at Uni was Shirley Firth (Lecturer in Hinduism).
One thing she couldn't do was...cook!! She was brought up in India with an Ayah and her mum had a cook, so she never went near the kitchen.
How Colin, Jonathan et al (yes, she is Colin Firth's mum) survived is beyond me :-S

Det, we had a Morris Minor Van for a few years.
Alternate years we changed the engine and gear box.
It was also my job to reseat the piston valves by hand. I believe this was actually 'lapping in' the valves - but, hey, I could do it - it was tedious, but no-one can say I wasn't 'hands on'.

Oh yes, and I can make curtains, re-cover sofas, re-canvas deck chairs and decorate too!! :-D :-D

I'm (apparently) analytical and logical.
But still can't (don't want to) drive :-D
Well, I can, but have never taken my test, so don't.

BUT I wouldn't take a Kenwood Chef apart!! :-0

Talk about coincidence.

SiL brought back my Chefette yesterday morning along with a variety of cakes made by him and younger grandson - cake pops and several small cakes. Oz (daughter) and he are adept at occupying the young un one way or another. I tried one cake pop - delicious, a bit like malty buttons we used to make years ago, - and froze the others. The mixer will rest in our cupboard until they want it again.

Perhaps I ought to wrap it in Christmas paper and put it under their tree as a surprise cos I doubt it will get as much use here? <3 :-D ;-)
