Shirley~I,m getting the hang of it

Shirley~I,m getting the hang of it Report 6 Jun 2017 14:36

My youngest sister lives in Canada ..she and her hubby and young daughter went to Canada 1977 they eventually took Canadian citizenship because it was more beneficial for them to do this

We do have Canadian family anyway because my mums half sister was a BHC

Tony was diagnosed with cancer in sept 2016 . He had prostrate cancer In Jan 2016 and had the op and all ok
Sadly he then got unrelated cancer and has battled with treatment even tho he was told it's terminal
He was very stressed and panicky for his diagnosis.who wouldn't be !!! But he did fight as long as he could
A sad thing is long time friends in the uk went over to see him last Monday in the hospice where he been for just over two weeks ,and he knew they were there and he held his arms up for a hug , so sad

He has hung on but passed away at 3am on this Monday

So RIP my dearest brother in law Tony

Thank you folks

They were both wanting to see their 50th wedding anniversary next year and Tony,s 70th birthday

They married when he was 20 and Lynne was 18. . A true love story that lasted

Wish I could give my sister a comforting hug and support but it's too far for me to contemplate making the journey over to them . I had thought I might try but I do know it's not really a sensible thing for me to do

It's almost unreal . Tony was a proud guy and didn't want folks to know cos he didn't what sympathy . He knew the diagnosis was terminal but getting his head around it he couldn't accept

My sister would say to him kick cancer in the arse cos you can do it

Sadly he did get grumpy along the way and it was walking on eggshells at times and not getting upset at his moods. Lynne would say she had to remind herself he couldn't help it so don't take it personally

Am sure folks who have gone on the journey with a loved one who has cancer will equate with it

We can only support and help the final journey
