Ah, My History. On there I have 2 known relatives as 1 and 2. From the third name onwards they are all unidentifiable.

Some very distant ones I get are written, I think, in Hebrew.

I know some people get good results from them but I had great results from Ancestry. Lots of relatives, some I knew or knew of through research and some I had to work out to find their place in my tree.
OH is only on Ancestry. Very few on one side of his paternal side have tested but we were able to work out his unknown maternal grandfather and ,it’s of them have tested.

Best of all, Ancestry will now work out which side of the family your match comes from. Doesn’t happen immediately but is a great help. As well as giving you your ancestry groups ‘ which will be a bit different to MH, they also show you how much of that group you do or do not get from each parent.
We all found this useful. I knew my father had two bits of Irish in him through research but all of us cousins on my mothers side knew we had Irish in us through family stories, but couldn’t find it in research - Ancestry tells us we have none, proving the research.

In the end, you can only match with folk who have tested and put their results on the same site as you, in the same way as you get matches with a family tree on here or wherever. But don't dismiss the matches from further away, I've found a few identifiable ones who are quite remote, but because I have an extensive family tree I can often place the matches.

I might struggle with which side of the family they match with as my parents were first cousins once removed, so I may have some of the same DNA from both sides.

I know what you mean GF.
I could actually group some of my MH matches because of a particular place. but when you have matches with almost no tree and no place names, no match to anyone recognisable it is much more difficult.
But those totally written in some other script - even the names - well.................
