My dad (Fleer Air Arm) would also use the tern 'up the swanee', and 'Khazi'.

He also used to refer to horse poo as 'doofers', as it would 'doofer' the garden :-D

Where I first worked, anything we couldn’t think of the name for was called a doofer, Maggie.

Dad always called me Sweet and I had never heard of anyone else’s father using that endearment. I found out where he got it from many years after he died when I was in a supermarket in Southend and the cashier called me Sweet. Obviously, it had come down his Dad’s side as they were all Essex and lived not far from Southend.

If Dad was ever really annoyed, his expression was always Damn and Blast or Damn My Fires. Only once did I ever say the latter and was hauled over the coals for doing so. I
