I was reading about the Great Frost and the Frost Fayre they had on The Thames .....think it was 1643 :-D :-D

Also on that first weekend a Dakota plane never managed to get airborne fully…and crashed in Croydon….all due to the weather conditions :-(

There are some fabulous etchings of people skating on the Thames during the frost fayre.

I wonder what was so special about seventeen minutes to five? ;-) ;-) ;-)

The Thames froze hard enough again to hold a Fair on it in 1634-5. And then, during a frost of unparalleled severity in the winter of 1683-4, the great Frost Fair or Blanket Fair was held.
