hello brenda wll it it is wet and rainy over here as well quite the storm the last two nights but the tree's are in full bloom and nice and green, nothing much new at the moment it is a long week-end this week-end (like a bank holiday). and people will be driving up to see how the cottages survived the winter so the highway will be very busy from thursday on. I may go down to brampton to my friends as the town get inundated with the the cottage crowds. hope that your weather improves bye for now dorothy

Hi all, Well we have been getting our share of the rain too, at last, but inbetween lovely and sunny. This morning had to go to the hospital for the umpteenth time. This time for the urologist as I cannot get rid of my cystitis. I now have another round of scans, etc.etc. Anyway we went into the hospital with it pouring with rain and when we came out again lots of warm sunshine. This afternoon had my help and when she had finished I decided to go to the supermarket to buy some extra milk as the shops are closed tomorrow. Tomorrow is Ascension Day and it is a public holiday and lots of people will also have Friday off, thus making a long weekend. I have decided to give myself a holiday and only do the things I want to do tomorrow. I hope it works out! I think I have a flower on my tomato plant. My herbs are doing well. Still don't know whether one should cut herbs or tear them off like they do in Ready, Steady, Cook. Anybody else know? Sylvia xxx

Good morning all, just back from the docs after a breathing test, and no worries ,it's no worse than last years tests ,so i am good for a while at least. While i was out yesterday i passed the farm ,or rather i WAS going to pass but decided to call in ,for a reason which will now be revealed, lol. Being a soft hearted fella as regards my birds in the garden,i scrouged a couple of handfulls of down ,and bought it home. This morning i scattered half of it on the patio ,and watched the spuggies ,dunnocks and finches fight over it ,feathers were flying so to speak,as they stuffed as many feathers in their beaks as they could ,and flew off to line their nests with it. The seed feeders need filled up every two days now ,and the amount of fat balls and bread we are going through is no ones bussiness hee hee,it costs as much to feed them as it does to feed Liz and myself, and the thanks we get is more poo dropped on the car hee hee. Off to the sons now to do more packing and storing ,but i will be back later today, take care all.Fred.

Keep up the good work Fred and you never know you may be knighted by the queen. Shall I nominate you? You can then wear your best suit, but you'll have to have a wash as well - LOL. Had a quiet day today, making some more cards and doing some cross stitch. I did some household chores - well who else is going to do them? Fred doesn't live near enough to me! Johan is too busy writing his memoires that I can barely talk to him these days. Tomorrow we are off into town with a couple of boxes of clothes and linen for the recycling shop and then do a little shopping. Must have one or two things in the house in case of extra people dropping in. Next Tuesday my sister and brother in law are coming so will make a big pan of soup and have nice fresh bread rolls with it. They won't want to stay for dinner as it gets too late for them as they live in the eastern part of the Netherlands. Next Thursday my granddaughter is coming for dinner. She just phoned me up that she is free that day and is going to the dentist and her dentist has his practice beneath these flats so it is very convenient. See you tomorrow. Sylvia xxx

Morning friends and visitors from all over the world who may drop in..Sylia my pal, when johan finishes his book, will you tell us all what the title is please ,because i for one would like to get hold of a copy,it should prove most interesting to read. I may not be around much for the next few days peeps ,because iv'e had some very bad news concerning my one and only sister in lincolnshire. Her hubby phoned as we came in the door last night with the news that she is in hospital with terminal cancer of the spine ,with many secondary growths throughout the body.and they give her about six weeks . I am now going to see if i can get down there for a couple of days to say my goodbys, but i aint very cheerful at the minute as she is the last surviving member of my close family, apart from my children.and much loved missus, this couldn't have come at a worse time considering that Liz's only older sister has lukemia ,and isn't responding to treatment ,very well, although she is only living a couple of miles away and we can visit her any time. I can't even go down this weekend because of the combi being installed today, and the sparky coming on Monday to finish the electrics side of the installation. Going to go now ,and try to cheer myself up a little by watching my birds come in for their breakfast. Have a good weekend all of you ,and be good .Fred.

Hi all, My thoughts will be with you Fred and may you have the strength to bear up to your sister's illness. Cancer is really the main illness which people are dying from these days. We have had a lovely warm sunny day today. In fact too warm for what we did. First of all we took some boxes of clothes etc. to the recycling shop and then looked around the shop ourselves. Always come home with some secondhand books! Lots of children there as it is still holiday time so it was exhausting. We then went on to a large supermarket, and here too masses of people with children. Oh, I was so tired when I came home. Johan was also tired and started making nasty remarks to me so I told him if he was tired then he should go to bed and not take it out on me. I was also tired and still had the dinner to cook! Anyway he must have realised what he had been doing and has been ok ever since. It is amazing what you can say when you are tired isn't it? Have a nice evening. Sylvia xxx

Hi all, Well guess where I have been all day, began at 7.00 am? In the kitchen of course. I have baked 3 9-cereal loaves of bread, made a large whisked non-fat sponge which I have frozen in until I want it and then it is ready to fill with tart filling and whipped cream. I have also made a Dutch apple tart. Tired, not really. Been more tired shopping. The weather has been super again albeit a cold wind. I washed my hair early on as my hairdresser is on holiday. My neighbour Annemie came down and put some rollers in. I usually blow dry my hair, but rollers is ok for a change. Am going to do some more of my cross stitch now. Who knows may have it ready for my daughter's birthday next month. Sylvia xxx

Hi all, Am at a loss whether to write something or just nudge. If I nudge will be called 'the secret nudger', but doesn't really bother me. Anyway there is very little news to report, lovely sunny weather. Not much more than a nudge really. Have a nice day. Sylvia xxx

Hi Sylvia, sorry to have left you on your own for a few days ,but i have been a bit upset what with one thing and another. Liz managed to get us a last minute booking for a caravan park in Mablethorpe ,near Louth ,so that we can go down to see my sister without imposing on my brother in law ,who for obvious reasons needs space at the moment to come to terms with the impending loss of his wife. I will be able to see her for three days at least, but we have to come back Friday,to get ready to go back up to southernness on friday afternoon. I have been keeping myself busy over the past couple of days getting the garden sorted ,getting the hedge trimmed ,the lawns cut, more potting on done, and putting the low growing roses into the borders. The combi is in now,up and running and we now await the arrival of the sparky to fix up the wireless control panel, but we have already sampled thje hot water ,and radiators [utter bliss] and the son phoned this afternoon to ask if he can come for a bath lol. We hope to be down to Louth by about four oclock ,in time to go to the local cake shop to find a lardy cake to go with the tea ,very naughty of me i know ,but i havn't had one for years, and i'm sure a piece taken to my sis on Tuesday wouldn't come amiss hee hee,Jerry hasn't a sweet tooth so he never buys her that sort of thing. Well ,that's it for quite a while peeps, but i need a few hours sleep to get ready for the longish drive tomorrow [today] i mean . Take care all ,see you a week Sunday ,take care ,and be good.Fred.
