By the way he is supposed to be going out tomorrow and saturday night so I hope to get as many done as possible. The problem is for us all that the computer is so slow. When it is face to face or on the phone it is so much quicker. This is why it takes so long and sorting it out. I must thank the spirits for hanging on for an hour at a time where as they usually are 15 minutes. I can't see a way of speeding it up. Does anyone else have any suggestions?

Lou, i was very close to my nan, she died when i was 18, i have her photo in the room i'm in now, and my dads, i did wonder about my pc going funny and then it was ok later, it's going great guns now!!!! my nan gave me a family bible just after Great Gran died, i was about 11--12 at the time, and i always remember her sitting with me by the fire [ coal fires then!] and she told me who was who, and i've never forgotten, i've had that bible ever since! that's by my computer and i leave it there because i believe it has brought me luck in tracing my family tree, i wont put it away! she also bought me a cross when i was little and i still wear it to this day!! i think and talk about her everyday, she's been gone now 37 years, but she was lovely. I was drawn to the picture of the woman with a locket Chris and was going to ask if you had a locket but dismissed it.

Why Lou? You know everyone, so you don't need to feel shy.

We've had that problem recently and it could be that you need to 'clean up' your harddrive. Go to 'my computer' then right click on C Drive. Select properties from the drop down list. You will see on there a pie chart showing how much memory is used/free. If you don't have much memory then it would be a good idea to put your unwanted files to the recycle bin, then delete it. Also delete your temporary internet files by going to internet explorer then clicking on tools and internet options. From the box with the pie chart on it you can click on disc clear up. Also click on tools to defrag your files. Hopefully when you've done this your computer should run quicker! Rachel

forgot to say, the bible was handed down from Great Grans mother. Can i also tell you this Lou---------i had a very strange feeling a few months ago------i was in the kitchen one day and i got this smell, i asked my son if he could smell it, he said no, i knew i had smelt it before, then it came to me----it was the smell of my dads shaving soap! it was just for a few seconds, a few days later my brother came to see me and told me he had cancer, he's ok now tho', but he had to have major surgery, he's not fully fit but is getting there, what i'm getting at is i believe my dad is watching over him and me. Lou, i do have a locket that belonged to my nan, i don't wear it cos it is broken, so i keep it in a box in my bedroom. chris.

my computer is going absolutely great now!! i've never known it so fast!!!!! i think they have cleaned it up for me!!!!!!! chris.

Should have also said that you need to do this to your other drive if you have 'double memory'. Also try to avoid running too many programmes at once or have too many websites minimised at the same time. If you are viewing the photos through Photoshop software then this is such a big programme that it can slow your computer down. My husband was listening to the radio through Radio AOL on his headphones through the computer the over day whilst I worked on my reseach and even this put it on the go slow!!
