Friar! No need to go into hiding over what went on. I'm not. I think everyone has learnt a bit from it. Come out to play soonest. Kim That Japanese Cracker you supplied me with the other night was excellent. Well worth getting a warning for ( from GR I mean, not from the wife ;) ) G

Well, we seem to have hijacked Lunars thread. Hope she doesn't mind, since she's away for a while anyway. Pat, Joy, :-)))))))))))))))) You're both priceless! Thank you. Friar, stay for as long as we do. Who knows what fun we may get up to in the future. Kim, well you're just Kim. What more can I say hon? Catch you later in the land of the pretty colors. LOL :)

Hi guys, Sloping in around the corner after the fracas the other day ... been meditating on an Ode to Sherlock, but as yet haven't come up with anything apt, still in shock. Who else got the GOB (Grand Order of the Boot)? I seem to have missed any other 'offender' being obvious - I think most folk 'had a go' whilst the chaos was in progress. Decided today that when subs renewal comes around next March I'm going to quit. Yes, I had just paid my dues when it was all change .... and now this stupidity. Really hacked off about it all, really, really hacked off .... Jane PS: Thanks for listening!

Joy Report 9 Jun 2005 20:23

I think all tips board ''refugees' should take shelter right here! btw I still do not understand the reasoning between suspension for some and GO of the B for Sherlock! :-) Joy (with bouncebackability)

Jane Report 9 Jun 2005 20:25

Joy, I think it was Sherlock's 'spamming' of the board that ultimately got him kicked out, but I am not sure it really is permanent ... tho' that's what someone reported. Do you know who else has been excluded ... I've done a 'headcount' and must have missed someone? Jane x

Jane Report 9 Jun 2005 20:44

Ooops! Wouldn't be surprised if I don't fall down a hole next ... one of my 'replies' has been removed from a thread on Tips (Irene's 'Goodbye'). It contained no naughty words (unless I had mistyped something) nor anything particularly different to anything said by anyone else. Seditious, maybe? If I am just having a 'senior moment' and it's really there, will somebody please tell me .... Thanks Jane

Think You All Need A Drink! (Damn - who left our minuture whiskys in Hughs Bar last night?) Cant be bothered to see if they are still there. So, we will start with Sherry (Cream or Dry) Few little nibbles - Peanuts, Bombay Mix and Crisps (Japanese crackers are 'Off') Help Yourselves everyone who is here. (Will go onto the stronger stuff later, told folk to bring a bottle along - Hope they remember)

Conan

Conan Report 9 Jun 2005 22:18

Hmm! I was told there was a party on here tonight. No one here. And I brought a magnum of Mumm's along as well. Pity the Japanese crackers are off. Perhaps they'll feel better tomorrow night. I'll come back then.

Jane, and anyone else who's interested! The other casualty of whatever day it was, was a chap who sometimes used the name The Necromancer I think when the penny drops as to who (although i dont think he ever used the general board) he was when he used his 'real name' (which he did mostly) many will be surprised and he to will be greatly missed. Not only for his wit but his wisdom too. jess

Well here I am, in my second-best flying cloak and all my Research wrapped up in a spotted hanky, looking for somewhere to settle. Just flew through the Tips Board, gosh, its ever so quiet on there, not a lot of problem-solving going on. Is it the new rule then, no levity on the Tips Board? Just think, all the Newbies who will never get to read,( and weep), Lylas Amusing Causes of Death, The Rude Names, etc etc - they will never know what they have missed! M.

When they pull one of Nell's threads, which will have as much wisdom as wit, then you know that the patients are in charge of the asylum.

Pat Report 9 Jun 2005 23:21

Hi Marjorie, Just crying with with laughter once again while reading your masterpiece the beaver blower I sneakily copied it so it would not be lost forever, I also have Lyla's classic, so that won't go. We'll be singing those were the days soon and then I will be weeping with sadness at the loss of some great threads. Love Pat x

Pat It is very kind of you to refer to the Beaver Blower as my masterpiece, but I cannot in all honesty, claim the honours for that - I merely primed the engine, so to speak, and stood back. It was the others on here - some gone, alas - who stoked it and kept it going. But it WAS funny and I too wept with laughter. Anyone who was offended by it, deserved to be, because I did post a warning in the title. Flat champagne!!! My fave!!!Suits the mood. So - tell me then, anyone found any ancestors today, now all the nuisance posters have gone and the Boards are clear for Genuine Research? M.
