Hi tinkers, hope you can manage to eat a little more today - you only have a few hours to go before you see your doctor and you don't want to go passing out before you get there, from hunger.

If you are drinking tea, why not try dunking a few nice biscuits, plain or fancy ones as they will help fill you up and chewing them won't make you feel sick. I like digestives or the oaty ones that I buy, and dunk away when I am low lol

Take care and let the tears come if need be, but try to keep yourself occupied so you don't dwell on the nastiness you have received, take support from your o.h. and from us here and know we are thinking about you

Yes, I can see what you mean Michelle.. Why not see what your doctor suggests then before saying anything about mental health support.

Thank you so much ladies I can't face anything to eat today as yet but am drinking lots of tea

It's a Gud idea to write things down before seeing the doctor

AnnCardiff

AnnCardiff Report 27 Nov 2013 13:07

good advice from Ann - write things down so you don't forget anything

I think you have to be honest and firm with your doctor, don't let him fob you off, tell him how you feel, concentrate on you rather than what has happened to make you feel like you do, but don't ignore that either, just make it secondary to how you are feeling. And don't forget to ask to be referred. It might help if you jot things on a piece of paper and keep it in your hand to remind you.

http://www.webmd.com/depression/features/eating-disorders
Copied and pasted from above site...

To determine if depression is part of an eating disorder, doctors use a well-tested battery of questions that tease out the most common symptoms of depression. These include:

Feelings of sadness or unhappiness
Loss of interest in activities that once were pleasurable
Loss of libido
Irritability or anger
Sleep problems
Loss of appetite

That is a helpful reply GL so, it looks as though it is the doc who needs to advise you on that Michelle. Only 2 days now, hang on in there. And don't forget to keep drinking.

Tinkers,
I have been following this thread with interest.
I know from my own famiy experience that there is a definite link between eating disorders and depression/moods/anxiety.

My daughter had an eating disorder too and her doctor explained the connection between diet and mood.
As soon as she started to eat properly, her mood/depression started to lift and she has never looked back.

I an thinking about you and am sure that you can do it too Tinks XXX
