Looking relatives or friends of either of these Graham was my grandfather he lost touch with the family and lived and worked in lordship lane until he died 1969 i dont know who annie is but she lived with my grandfather and her name is on death certificate was she his wife ? did they have children ? any info would be great help thanx

Hi there William Graham Vivian Pile was born in Swansea in 1896 his father was Ernst Edward Pile his mother was mary Jayne Atkins he had two brothers and one sister he married my grandmother(Margaret Jones) in Christ church in Swansea on 18th April 1925 they had two children Dorothy Jean (my mum ) was born April 1930 and they had a son( Kenneth Ashley) born may 1932 both are now deceased. Jean had 9 children Ken had two when he left in the 1940s no one heard from him again . I have a copy of his death certificate which I managed to trace and he died in Harringey on the 25th August 1969. at the time of his death he lived in 426 Lordship lane Tottenham the informant on the certificate is Ann Beryl Pile of the same address as far as i know my grandparents did not divorce and we assumed when he left he went tp devon where the family originate from Who is Ann Beryl Pile what relation is she to me . Graham was in the Army 1914 1920 The Welsh Regiment Corps Any info about them both I would be really grateful to find out what happened in the 20 odd years before he died A million thank yous to everyone Shan

Can you please confirm if it is Ann, Anne or Annie Beryl. You use all three spellings.

The death cert should state the informant's 'qualification' - i.e. Authority to register..usually the relationship

If she lived with your grandfather as his 'wife' without being married, she is simply not related to you

qualification answer is causing the body to be buried . Yes he married Margaret Jones my grandmother in 1925 in Swansea . So he didn't marry her.......and you're unlikely ever to find out her true name

A woman living with man previously/still married to someone else is hardly likely to give the wife's details when she registers his death.

Sorry I thought they had to give that information. She must exist somewhere I can't give up hope of finding out about her . They may or may not have had a child together . I live in hope of finding out about my grandfathers life after he left Swansea thanks for your reply

William G Pile and Ann B Pile are together on the ERs at 33 Ducie Street, Brixton/Lambeth from 1949 to at least 1958 - so looks like they could have been living together as man and wife for quite some time before his death.

It may be worth you getting a copy of the death certificate for Ann - the informant may have been a relative.

Added: if he left around 1945 he would have been 49, and if the death for Ann is right she would have been 51 - so although not impossible, it woud seem unlikely they had children.
