Born in Sevenoaks Q1/1939 mmn Dolan? Was there a family fall-out to make him go missing?

He married Joan Smith in 1962 (Lewisham), so where do you last know of him, area/year?

So did they divorce? or is he missing presumed dead?

Surely if he is a missing person the police have searched for him?

sue

sue Report 8 Sep 2012 19:38

police didnt search because he was over 21 and this was over 50years ago when he went, they didnt divorce.

I can't see anything obvious for him. There are quite a few David Large's on 192.com. You can use his birth date to search for a death between 1970 and 2006, always possible but in view of age not overly likely. If Joan can remember his birthday we might as well try, otherwise you would need his birth cert.

When his wife re-married was this after 7 years (the presumed dead period) or did they d8vorce? He could be anywhere - lets face it, it is very easy to disappea if you want to.

sue Report 8 Sep 2012 20:32

brummiejan

brummiejan Report 8 Sep 2012 20:40

The year is actually 1939.
You need to remove his birth date for privacy - if anyone wants it they can PM you.
I can't see an obvious death for him.

jax Report 8 Sep 2012 20:58

The fact that he has been missing for 50 years and his wife was able to remarry,,,it is more probable he either is not using that name or left the country

He must have had a NI number had he been using that or claimed his pension?

Flip

Flip Report 8 Sep 2012 21:05

But a death registration relies on the informant's imformation - not nessessaily right, just what they thought to be the case at the time.

You haven't answered the question - Did his wife re-marry as divorced, or was he just presumed dead (7 years missing)? In what year did she re-marry?

jax

jax Report 8 Sep 2012 21:08

Flip

Sue has said they did not divorce

Flip

Flip Report 8 Sep 2012 21:13

Flip

Do yoy know who she married? Am I missing sonething about the NI/pension numbers? Or is this something new?

Reggie Report 10 Sep 2012 13:00

If there was no divorce, his wife must have had him declared legally dead, to be able to re-marry.

And that would have entailed a considerable amount of searching - and expense

You say Joan re-married - to whom?
