Thanks for all your information Reggie she came to Castle Donington in service then got pregnant by the butler where she worked and eventually met my granfather and they married in 1911.Her father was Thomas Sears a builder in Tring.

All family born Tring, but no sign of Georgina - if this is the right family I wonder if she could be with grandparents and recorded under their name? Not seeing a marriage for Thomas Sears to a Lydia to check her maiden name though.

Looks like you're on the right track Reggie! I missed that marriage even though I was using the phonetic search.

Incidently looks like Lydia didn't re-marry, but died in 1921 -she was living at 65 Norholt Road, Harrow with daughter Emily Alice Smith on the ERs. No probate record though.

Just been looking on Tring website and there is a garage in Tring called Sears Motors think I might get in touch see if it is a long lost relation.

BUT.....you need to re-think...........none of Georgina's immediate family remained in Tring. Her father didn't even die there.
