Hi Reggie,

The 'good contact' had posted on GR and had done a lot of searching into the Aspin family as there was a common link between our families many generations back.

I have followed up on others with common ancestors in their trees as you suggested and by searching BDM records have determined they are living 2nd cousins - hooray. I have now sent them messages. I missed some earlier posting from them back in 2008 as my email changed and, as noted earlier, I had given up trying so stopped checking this site for postings.

I still have one major goal - to find a specific woman my grandfather wrote to often but I have limited info to go on at this stage, just a first name and approx birth date. Obviously related in some way but would have been a great niece of his. I may post for help when I dig out something more.
