Death registrations online only go up to 2006, and there is no death with that dob.

However, I'm really sorry (and this may be totally unconnected) there is an obituary for a Malcolm Charles Payne who died 17/10/2008 but it does not give his age. Google his full name + obituary and you should find it - along with details of his wife and a son. It looks like they married in 1990 but possibly been together for a considerable time before this.

The only way to be sure would be to try to order the death cert to see if dob is correct - as you have to give an age they should advise you if it isn't a match.

If it is a match, his wife is still alive living in Wales. Like I say, this may be totally wrong person - with no age given on the obit it is impossible to tell. I'm only posting this info as you have reached a dead end with all other efforts.

To order the death certificate go to GRO - it costs £9.25, just input the details you know - including date of death and his age, which would be 69 if this is the right person.

http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/

I'll send you a PM with the possible marriage, and details of her previous marriage etc - I don't want to post on the board as it is not secure. Check out your messages in a little while.

:-DThanks Tasha, I take it you are going to get the death cert and if correct contact the second wife. It can't hurt, she was an adult when they got together so must have had some inclination of his past!

I would be interested in whether the dc is the right person though.

Take care of yourselves, atb
